I had to leave town for a few days, and was rushed, so I didnt have to log in to SWG and make sure everything was paid up at the time.
When I got back, I noticed my bank account being 300k lighter than it normally is, and my e-mail telling me why. I was running 6 Heavies on Yavin for some crap or other. I was gone 6 days... Even if it did pull from my bank account, 50k per harv, that is fine, wouldnt have hurt my feelings none, but, when I got to Yavin to pull the things, they only had like 23 credits in them! Now, all of you know that you plop 50k in maint in one of these babies, even without the merchant modifier, you get a heck of a lot more than 6 days of maint for that kind of cash.
Just wondering if any of you had similar experiences or what, thanks.

I had a similar experiance St1aNge.
Here's what i think happens. When your Maint hits 0 They pull from your bank account and put a certain amount on the Harv. When that amount gets to 0, they pull again. And they keep doing that until you run out of creds.
This is just a theory, i haven't tested it at all, but it's the only way i can think of having excess creds on my harvs after i was gone for a week

I can help a bit with how it works, since I left home a while back and have never returned. I had of course expected my houses to poof, and I wanted them to as I had no intention of ever returning, but just after I moved away they introduced the automatic maintenance. That was several weeks ago, and every time I logged in I found a whole bunch of emails telling me that the maint was run out and so the credits were being automatically deducted. I didn't check exactly, but I reckon it is taking enough to last just a few hours at a time, maybe 2 or 3 or 4 hrs worth, then taking again when it needs it. What I did try to check was what would happen if I had no credits in the bank, so I withdrew all but a few credits. Sadly I didn't get to log back on and check, I wonder if my houses would heve disappeared then....
However, I believe the OP was registering surprise at the AMOUNT of credits withdrawn, 300k sounds very high, and would either have to be:
a) maintenance on a LARGE number of structures (this applies to all lots you are using up that need maintenance), but then there is a max of 10 lots, so this sounds unlikely.
b) maintenance over a LOOONG period of time, which is unlikely as the OP would have a LOOONG list of emails.
c) A bug, entirely possible
d) a mistake by the OP in the amount deducted, also possible
e) nothing whatsoever to do with automatic mainteance deductions.

I was kind of wondering about this myself. Somehow I had built a house on Talus, and one night I had close to 10 million credits. The next day, no more than 18 hours later, I noticed i'm quite a bit lighter...I remembered this being put in, so I check my mails, and I only see one about a small generic on Talus. Of how much was taken out, I think they charge extra for the bank-paying of the maintenence, much like bank-tipping over long distances.

Well, I know it was around 300k for those days, I keep my mian toon pretty much on the same amount of credits all the time, so I know whats been going on.
I just thought that the withdraw rate, as suggested, was seriously bugged. And the mail I got that the money was being drafted from my account was just the 6 harvs on Yavin.
Dont ask me why i dont just pay them up for months at a time, i just never have. LoL

I just had a single harvester suck up over 20k in under 24 hours
Perhaps the bank deduction rate is 10x the normal rate?

Did you /bug it?
I didnt, unfortunately... I figured that it was a lesson learned... LOL
Then i got to wondering if anyone else had the same problem maybe, and posted here. If it is a bug, it is a serious one, which wont get fixed, cause there is a workaround of sorts....... keep your maint paid, and hope like hell real life dont creep on you all of a sudden!

Hmmm, I hope this is a quick fix. I'm leaving on deployment for six months soon and was hoping to depend on it to keep my stuff around.

No, didn't bug it. I figure next time I move them I'll leave one empty on purpose so I can be sure of exactly how much it takes and when.
