Hiya,

Just bought several lamps for my new house...but I can't figure out how to turn them on after I dropped them. Can someone clue me in?

Thanks,

KFJ

Clue #1 There is no way to turn them on.

Clue #2 the only thing that gives off light source is a Torch.

Any lamp past torch is useless for actual light. Way to go dev team!!

For now you have.. maybe one day they will write the code for lamps to work. Wouldn't that be something. Star Wars with working LAMPS. Those torches will look real nice next to those DARK WALLS in the naboo house right next tor your curtains.

Wanna light your house usem fire.. ugh ugh.

I may have been hallucinating, but I seem to recall free standing lamps giving off light in my Medium Corellian house during Beta. I never placed the "desk" lamps during Beta so I'm not sure if they worked.

I'm sure it is an unintentional bug that will be fixed in time.

The funny thing I've found is that a "torch" requires an "Electronics GP Module", which lamps don't need them. It seems kind of backwards!

It's for precisely that reason that I never sell lamps other that torches (and free-standing lamps because although they don't illuminate they still look good!). What's the point in a table-top lamp that falls through the table? If I was a customer I'd rightly want a refund or end up being pretty peeved, hence I'm not putting them up for sale.

(Having built maps for the Half-life engine, assigning light sources seemed to be a doddle. I guess there must be some problem with it that they're working on - hopefully!)

Yeh I stopped selling table lamps for this reason...well that and the fact that they can't sit on tables.

I still make the free-standing lamp since I think it looks cool even without a light source.

Don't make stuff that will make a customer feel cheated...well ya know that one lamp that looks like that jumpy droid in SW episode 1 is kinda cool looking. I don't sell it, but have placed a few next to my vendor: bud lite and coors lite.

The free-standing lamps look sort of lit up if you turn on your personal light source

The Naboo house has lamps on the wall alreeady which light up, so we know they can do it. But having a dynamically placed light source is a bit tougher I imagine.

This is ridiculous. Fix this. I just dropped credits on lamps that don't work?

What wasted.
