Thread: Factory Crate Bug
I used my factory to make 100 structural modules in a crate. After it was completed I was able to split 15 modules out of the crate. Then it stopped letting me remove them and I have a crate of 85 modules that I cant seem to use.
I have relogged many times, givin to a friend to try, and even got down into my underpants with a empty inventory and still no luck.
Has anyone else had this problem and is there a cure? I am very nervous about making more crates because of fear of wasting more resources. I lost alot of ore from this experience if there is no fix for it.
I have also /bugged it and reported it to CSR. Of course I havent gotten a response from CSR either. It has been about 3 days now.
I hope my problem fixes itself. Its been about three days now and I still cant use them.
Also a new problem that developed yesterday is that I cant put any items in my vendor. I only have 6 items in it and everytime I try to add another item, no matter what it is, I get "Cant place a invalid item in vendor" message. If I remove a item I can add another but it wont let me put in a 7th item.
Looks like im going to have to go to the general store and stock up on Raid to get anything done in my shop.
- You took off all your clothes except your underpants? *insert web cam joke here*
- OHHH you mean your CHARACTER. Okay. ![]()
- And by the way, yes, you now get only 10% xp for items created in a factory, which is how the devs intended them to work.
- And this isn't just a hindrance to architects, it hinders all the crafting professions equally, so we're all even on this one.
- All it means is that factories are only useful when you absolutely need identical components, or when you max out your XP at master and just want to automate things.
I am having the same problem here. I had about 50 structural modules that I tried to pull out of crates and they just never went into my inventory, tried logging off, tried shuttling, tried everything. Its been about 3 days for me as well. Now I have a new problem, I pulled 5 wall modules out of a factory crate and they went into my inventory just fine, but whenever I try to use them to make something it says "invalid ingredient" **edit** is that all about? I'm just trying to make a medium Naboo house and a food factory. I've never had this problem before, and I made a house out of the first 5 wall modules I pulled from this same crate, I have no clue what is up.

Okay the same thing happened to me in game tonight and so I've decided to post my theory on the crate bug and see if any of you agree/disagree or can see an avenue here.
Here was my test platform:
I processed a schematic for 100 structural modules and put the schematic in the factory. I only put enough resources to finish 50 items. Halfway through the process, I stopped the job. I pulled out a crate with (23) structural modules. I decided to pull out all 23. When I got down to 14 it stopped. Everytime I tried to pull out another it would count down and then count back up again. This is the known bug we are all talking about.
Well I got it to reproduce so I continued on my testing. (Been in beta for so long its second nature)
I continued the remainder of the job until it processed the other (27) structural modules. I pulled out that crate from the factory and could get none of the items off the crate. So now I had two separate crates of (14) and (27) and couldn't get it to come out. I started thinking that perhaps the factory job was causing a problem with the crate since the items came from the same factory schematic and it may think the crates are still being processed. So, here's what I did.
I removed the schematic from the factory and halted all production. 20 minutes later, I could retrieve (ALL) of the modules from both crates. I did not log off and I did not zone into another city. I just waited til after I halted production and removed the schematic and 20 minutes later it worked.
Here is my theory:
- It's either lag related
- It's either factory related by schematic and a link to the job and the (pre-pulled) crates
- It's either related to some type of factory database system that allots x number of factory items from the database, so you have to wait for other players to finish pulling their crates
- Or, It's all of the above.
Let me know what you think and if anyone tested something similar, holler.
I hope this info helps.
Actually, that is not the known bug we are all talking about. My factory crates count down just fine, they don't count back up to anything. They stay with a blank number. And to you who said to sleep on it, did you not read the fact that its been 3 DAYS, not 3 hours, not 3 minutes. DAYS. I've slept on it several times and it still isn't working. Now to mention, those wall modules I couldn't get to work earlier dissapeared out of my inventory when I got kicked out of the game and came back in. Now they are gone too. So now I've lost a total of 100 structural modules and a lot more resources to boot. Something needs to be done.

these problems seem to have been addressed and fixed in last patch. I managed to empty 200 structual's from my crates without issue today, (first time EVERY) it was awesome!
I'm not sure if this is the same to everyone... looks like they have stuff under control now.
