I'm trying to level up in arch and pummped out a few small houses... I only paid attention to the last one on xp, but something did'nt seem right..

After making all the sub-components and then the final combine, my xp meter only showed about a 1k xp gain... that does'nt seem right. Has it always been like this.. I don't seem to recall, so if anyone has the ammount of xp they gain from crafting a small house (I made a style 2 if that matters) then let me know, post here, etc... I just have a bad feeling about this is all

Do you mean the actual final craft? That doesn't give much, because XP is based on resources used. The actual final craft of a small home uses 400 Low Grade Ore, and 100 Metal, so that's 500 resources x 2 experience = 1000 XP. However, you also go XP for every structural module you crafted, for the Light Power Core Unit, and for the Small Structural module. All told I think you get around 6K XP for a small house.

Total resources used on a small house is 3388. So, ~6776 Structural XP each.

That's the thing I was lookin' for... for the 3k or so resources used total, start to finish total xp was only about 1.2k or so... I did'nt pay attention to the other combines, so not sure if it was a one time thing or what.. what a bummer

Just open a ticket about it and see what they say. And remember, in the long run of the Architect tree, that couple thousand XP is not much, and you'll make way more than that soon, so don't worry too much!

So you think you should get double XP for all the components you built to go into the house?

I get 7200 give or take a few from experimenting for each small house I make.

I get 1600 for the final crafting of a small house. Every time.

Instead of making small homes you should consider making wall modules, generator turbines and manufacturing mechanisms. These things are invaluable to have extras of. When you get up to Inst II, you can start selling medium harvesters and solar collectors and already have a ton of the required sub-components on hand.

I've never really sat and charted all, but I do know the structural modules are 500xp (250 resources x2) and the final combine XP is resources x2, so I assume everything crafted gives XPof resources used x2... That is why the weapon power-ups were used to grind early on - they gave x4 on XP instead... Bugged it many times in Beta and after launch and it took a month after launch before it was fixed...

Most crafted items give 2xp per resource. I will check tonight but I believe you also get the User XP from each component when you make the final (after you click Next, then yes the first time) item. I know that I get UXP for my components for weapons but I have not watched closely for the houses I have been making. I do know that I get around 6-10k per small house that I make though. I cannot wait for medium houses as they will be about 40k exp each.
