Thread: Ore Overall Quality vs Unit Toughness
I see in the wall schematics that the most important 100% requirement is Unit Toughness. We just got and Ore that has 780 UT, but the Overall Quality is only 46. Should I pass, or should I extract?
(KInda a newbie question, but I just got to novice Architect ..just in time to see the nerfs...)
Thanks
when u turn master, it doesn't really matter bc most of your stuff will be done in a factory.

yep 'cause experementation is broken.
if not then max exper would be modifyed by the resource used.
Listen to Loamsdell.....I am really sick and tired of people complaining about crit failures and that they shouldn't happen and they happen way too often. Unit Toughness does make a difference, not in experimentation(useless), but in crit failure rate it does.
In the past 2 days, I have hand crafted nearly 300 items(parts and final combines together). Most of the orders were just that, orders and I used my own material which pretty much all has unit toughness 800+(908 on my ore). I failed on 4 items of about 250 or so, all of them strucural modules. I then accepted resources from one of my customers and made him a factory. I believe thats somewhere about 37 parts.....I failed 4 time(1 wall mod, 1 gen turbine, 2 struc mods). The unit toughness on his resources was somewhere between 300-600 on most of the resources.
I know several Master architects that all use high toughness resources and none of them seem to have the problems that people whine about on these boards. Of course everyone will still crit fail on something, but use high toughness resources to dramatically decrease your chance of it.
So you fail less with your high unit toughness and I have tons more crap ore and fail more cause of a high percentage of crap ore that I am pulling.
Seems pretty balanced to me. Play whichever way you like.
