Thread: FYI: How to make power cores(factory run) without losing extra.

I'm assuming the dev havn't actaully fix the factory problem yet, and since I just successfully made a production run in my factoryof 4 power cores last nightwithout losing(factory eating)any extra resources, I thought I would share with you guys how I did it. if the dev did fix factory call me an idioit

I don't claim this will work for everyone or 100% of the time, and when I get a chance I will do some more testing to confirm.

FYI #1, Here's a little trick, noramlly once a factory started production run, you can no longer open the input/output hopper(if you closed them). therefore Leave the input/output hopper open after you started your production run and stay close to the factory.

FYI #2, using FYI#1 you can see that there's a time delay as to when the resrouces for an item get eaten and when the item get deposited into the output hopper and when the last item is deposited into the output hopper and when factroy actually end production(you get email saying production finish/can open hopper from radial menu again).

therefore, I put enough resrouces and compoent to make exactly 4 power cores(4 trubine 4 power cond 4 energy dist and resoruces). I then started production with the hoppers still open on my screen, when the first 2 power cores were made I pick up the crate from the output hopper. Then the factory made the next one and I picked that one up also(as most arch know factory usually eat the LAST power core). at this point i was watching and was going to observe what happen when the factory made the last power core to see if I can see any observable reason as to why do the last power core always disappear. To my surprise the last power core got made into a crate! I immediately picked it up from the output hopper(at this point the production run have not actaully finish ie no email and only stop production in radial menu) I then procedd to stop production and viola I have my 4 identical power core without losing 1.

so either the dev fixed factory(which I dobut) or picking the power cores up before the factory finish prvent the factory from eatting oneof the output. When I get a chance I plan to re do this experiement but instead of picking the power cores up,I will be leaving them ALL in the output hopper UNTIL the factory finishes its production run naturally and see if the factory eat one from the output hopper

You can actually get at the output hopper when it is running. Not sure if it is a bug or not, but I would guess so.

Just have your mouse over the top lvl of the tree that has insert scematic/input hopper ect....

I don't know what it is called so sorry for the incorrect names

Operate Machine

--Start Production

--iInput Hopper

ect...

When it goes into production all you see is

-- Stop Production.

To get at the output hopper just have your mouse over "Operate Machine" and it appears. Like I said it is probably a bug but being able to keep the hopper open is probably a bug also. Although I don't see why we couldn't access these while running. Most factories have an output line on them, not a storeage box that is locked until the machine stops. That is considered assembly line and I would assume the Starwars universe is advanced enough to have it.

I made a factory run of 4 power cores last night w/o doing all of this. Don't know why it worked but it did and I've got the 2 PA halls to prove it

Actually what I have found that adding extra energy distributors, power conditioners, and generator turbines I would always get the power cores I wanted. For some reason if I put exact amounts of everything, it would eat the minerals and gen turbine but leave behind the last distributor/conditioner as if they didnt match the schemetic. Only drawback is I have to stand there and manual stop the factory when the last one I want is made, or even though the minerals are not there, it will eat a generator turbine, and they are to expensive to get eaten. Anyways, this is what works for me

Has anybody tested any of these solutions more than once? I'd like to add them as work arounds to my bug list.

When I have more than one person who has tested the solution more than once, I will post the solution to the bug list thread.
