Imho if we are to save Architects skills, then we need to make harvesters that are better than personals usable only by architects with enough skill to make them, not only will this stub and slow down the rate at which the economy is declining, but it will also create a demand from fellow architects who choose to be miners instead of house makers. this will slow down the rate at which houses are being made and thus increase their over all price, i don't see how this could go wrong for architects and it's my bestidea yet. really give it some consideration before you flame me. I know many of you don't like the fact of going back down to like just a few harvesters but this will keep a perpetual demand for our wares and also produce more roles an architect can play in society, like a miner, or whatever.

Or, they could just bring back the Miner class...

Aye terror I completely agree. The only way to balance the market is to make it so it takes more than one profession to go from ground to market. I recently posted a revamping of Professions that included bringing back Miner as well as adding 3 more professions. Then limiting use of certain structures to those professions. Such as extractors to Miners, Factories to Industrialists and Business buildings to Merchants.

oh heck no, if you made resources more EASIER to get then it will just flood the servers with more products and with more products become LOWER prices. If we find that More restrictions are placed on resource INCOME then Master Architects won't be a broke profession anymore because they could become a "miner" or a master architect as far as their role in the economy goes. The problem is our servers are becoming flooded with resources too quickly this increases produce and lowers value. if we cut this off and lower it, we should see the prices of houses increase as there is less of them and ahigher more perpetual and long lasting demand (economy class suks)

Restrict the availability of ore's and the price will go up and the only ones being hurt will be us, weapon smiths sell 120 resource guns for 20 to 30k you think it will hurt them.. no. It will most certainly hurt us.

I don't see how we could possibly be hurt, it restricts ore and therefore restricts the massive amounts of houses being made and sold off, so instead of ruining the economy with low prices and flooding the market, we would have a constant demand and people willing to pay more for their own house to get it sooner than all the other people waiting in line. If ore is restricted, then the guys who sell houses for low will be quickly hard put with a lot of demand but unable to meet a fraction of his customers, so then he knows he can sell for much higher to get rid of his customer base and increase profits.

They could just limit the medium, heavy, and "ultra" to the miners, and just leave personals to the layman (which it should be!)

Actually the biggest issue and the devs just can't code for that is ourselves. We have architects that are adamant about selling for below the cost of building and insisting they are making a profit. Not once realizing that they are creating the poorest of the crafting classes. Some of this is just power levelers and pa leveled architects that don't care some is just ignorance of the true costs of building a home. The days taken to gather the resources, the hours used to craft a single home and the totaly exasperating and defeated feeling of failing on a house or factory deed and losing all that time and effort.

This is also jading people to paying higher costs. I was talking to someone in game and told them I had settled on charging 4 credits per resource and he thought gee thats awfully expensive. Once I told him about how people are paying 166 credits per resources for weapons and armor he had little more to say. I mean really you will pay 166 credits a resource for a FWG5 that takes 120 resources but 4 credits a resource on something that can break the creator if it fails isn't a fair price?

People are selling resources on the bazaar for 5 to 20 credits and getting it because weaponsmiths and armorsmiths just don't care they can charge 10 to 20 times that for the final product. The answer is not restricting harvesters or creating another class of crafter. If anything what needs to be done is the 10 lot restriction lifted to 20 and the resource shifts restricted to monthly. Once there is a glut of resources then it will be easier all around for crafters. Still moreso for weapon/armor but as it stands now any restrictions on an architects abilitys will only make it more difficult not less.
