First, is there anyway to put the table top lamps on tables? And second are they just for looks or do they actually emit light like torches?

One thing about the stairs trick, I'm pretty sure the stairs have to be in the same room as where you're placing the object.

Also, there are some drinks that automatically float at table height when dropped. They float at different heights, though, so you have to experiment to figure out which drink is at the height of which type of table. Also, if it's transparent, it can't be targeted to be picked up again, so don't try Jawa beer or Starshine surprise; they fall straight to the floor and there forever remain.

Only thing that lights up a dark room right now is a Torch. Call it a Kerosene Lamp

You can put items on top of tables and against walls, but only in medium and large houses, or a PA Hall. This is because you need stairs to do it.

Just stand on any stairs and drop an item. When you move the item off the stairs, it will be above ground level. You can then move it against a wall, or on top of a table. Drop the items from different levels on the stair to get items higher or lower.

Also, using the line commands will give you more accuracy when moving items. Target the item and type any of the following:

/move forward # (where # = 1 to 50)

/moveback # (where # = 1 to 50)

/rotate right# (where # = 1 to 180)

/rotate left# (where # = 1 to 180)

Some examples of items to put against the walls including guns, swords, and fish (yes, fish you catch in rivers and lakes. They look great on the walls!). Items you can put on top of tables include the lamps, food items, and many other items such as the Neimoidian Birdcage (makes a great centerpiece on a table).
