I let the customer choose the price. If I sell out fast at 500, the next batch goes to 650, and so on until I hit the price where someone thinks "hmmm I really want a torch". I have had people come in and clear out my furniture vendor only to resell my items elsewhere. For me it is more important to have as much available in stock for regular customers as apposed to selling everything I have as quickly as possible.
Saying that, my price has been 1k. Seems to be about the right cost. I charge more for anything that has to have subcomponents.
My price is 750 on my vendor and 1500 on the bazzar. I do the same with beds. Small beds i sell for 1600 at my vendor and for 3k on the bazaar cant keep up on either one.

I was pretty much told yesterday by an individual that I could not stay in business charging my outrageous torch price. Actually he objected to all my prices, although as mentioned I regularly sell on the bazaar for those prices or even higher. Whereas his PA friend would sell them for 500 ea. I told him that he should tell his friend he could sell that torch on the bazaar for min 1000, probably 1300. I somehow doubt he passed that bit of info on to his "friend".
I also had someone try to buy in bulk (50) at 250 ea. I did not go for that deal. Again selling 8 torches on the bazaar (easily done) nets as much cash as 50 torches at 250 ea. Of course it was the old story that some other architect would sell them for 250. He probably turned around and sold the poor saps torches he swindled at his vendor for 1000 a pop.
In some ways I see furniture as a luxury item and as such the value is not in its utility (like say a blaster) but in the mere fact of owning it. Having a large full of master level couches is probably a much greater sign of wealth than say a set of padded armor. It is saying that you have enough cash that not only do you have the best equipment you have the most expensive furnishings in the game too on top of that. I mean that is that not why we have luxury goods? Do people really need a rolex when a timex will do?
What was interesting though is that the same person who objected to 1200 for a torch is the one that came to me because I can supply all but one piece of master level furniture. This was after he told me he asked several other architects and was told they did not have the proper resource types to make the items. Strange he though I should also sell at bargain basement prices for what aparently is still relatively rare items.
Anyway....
In the spirit of sharing some pricing info amoung architects how much are people charging in general for master level items?
I tend to think that say a master level cafe table that takes an ore which has been gone from chilastra for 3 weeks should command a fairly high price. I have some listed at 5000 each as a test. One has sold. I am trying to break out of the 3000 credit ceiling of the bazaar. Does anyone sell any items regularly at higher than 3000? I mean if you are buying the hides for some of these items it is almost required so that you have a reasonable margin?

I think my small beds are min 3K on the bazaar, about 2200 on my vendor. In any case I am certainly in the ballpark.
1600 would be a bit low for me. They are about 150 or 200 woolly? I try to factory in going rates on hides at the bazaar. I do have lower priced suppliers, but it is never consistent so my woolly based products tend to be on the high side.
Anyone have any thoughts on master level couches with endorian woolly hides? I have not even managed to get the woolly to make one yet. Got a stack of 200, a mere 50 short.
When people complain abuot my prices I usually ask them why they stopped by my shop and didn't purchase from the other person. If they are price shopping, I will ask where they got their 'great price' and sometimes I have also purchased fromthe same person and then put them on my shop at my price.
Talk with other architects on your planet. Find out what they charge and try your best to keep prices in line if the price they say is reasonable. I found one reason why I was getting so many inquiries on Large Harvesters is that i was pricing them 60k under anyone else. The problem was, there was no way to gather enough resources to deliver on the potential orders I was getting. After talking with several of the other Masters on the planet I realized I was way underpriced. I sell the same qty of harvesters at 60k more per, utilizing the same resources.
I have an Excel spreadsheet that helps me figure out what to price everything. I change the price of items on the first sheet, which automatically updatesthe prices on sheets2 and 3.
Pretty handy. I can change just thePPU on Furniture, or adjust any of the harvester and house PPUs as well (each size house/harvester has its own PPU control on the first sheet).
Anyway, I use this to try balancing all my prices with what other people are selling them for. On high ticket items, the higher the item level, the higher the multiplier. This is because such items are in lowersupply.
Man, I wish I had an edit button here.
"I change the price of items on the first sheet, which automatically updatesthe prices on sheets2 and 3." should read "I change the price per unit (PPU) on the first sheet, which automatically updatesthe prices on sheets2 and 3."
I'm sure I'm forgetting one other thing I wanted to fix... oh well, someone will point it out to me later, I'm sure.
I sell mine at a wide range of prices from about 600 to PA collegues and wholesale for resale to merchants to almost 1300 on the bazaar. They always seem to move, if not in seconds in a day or so.
What do people feel is a fair price?
1K to 1200 credits is my price range.
I charge almost 10cr/resource on all furniture though
I sell them for 1200 on my vendor and can't make the GP modules fast enough in a factory.
Anyone wanna buy some GP modules? Factory Crated.
