Thread: valcyn master needed
If i am able to buy a large or heavy harvester and reactor/generator how much do they cost appx.?
My last question is how is that people have so many lots I only have 10 it seems like some people have 20 or so.
Help me to be a good supplier to you and other professions!!!
1. No you don't have to be an architect to run a heavy harvester or fusion generators
2. Heavy harvesters have been going for around 150k primarily because they are such a royal pain in the arse to build, that and the tons of resources required.
3. Everyone has 10 lots, the reason it appears that some have more is that they are working with friends who place harvesters and give the architect admin rights to it.
I hope this helps
Hi, I'm a Master Architect on Valcyn. Just leaving my price list for heavies here for you.
56k CreditsHigh Efficiency Moisture Vap.
155k CreditsHeavy Natural Gas Processor
170k CreditsHigh Capacity Flora Farm
170k CreditsDeep Crust Chemical Extractor
195k CreditsHeavy Mineral Mining Install.
200k CreditsFusion Power Generator
I will also accept a trade for resources on these items. I will take 3 credits off the price for every unit of Low Grade Ore you supply me with.
Yes. For the big ticket items that need the identicalfactory components people do pay it.
I might not get as much business as the odd arch who sells at 4 cpu and has a week waiting list but I can deliver in 5 to 30 minutes and I don't get the hassle of working for nothing. I prefer to do business this way.
Btw for the easier items I don't charge 7 cpu. 5 cpu as a base price, 6 cpu for large houses, 7 for heavies, 8 for fusion and 9 for PAs (havent sold one yet).
Sold a large house yesterday at 6 and a medium house the day before at 5. Certainly pays to keep my mines running.
I have a friend who is also master but is selling stuff cheap just because people bug him about it. The point is it takes TONS of resources to build these things and some really annoying identical items with nested identical requirements (manfacturing mechs). There is no way I'm going to sell a fusion for under 200k. I'll run missions first.
Anyway the point is he runs 20-30 heavy harvs, sells for 3-4 cpu, sells a decent amout of big ticket items per week, and is always broke. I only use my 10 lots, I share a house with a friend (who I let borrow my heavy harvs that i'm not using..keeps my overhead low and saves me lots), I am able to keep big ticket items available for on demand pruchases (people are more likely to pay a fair price if you can deliver instantly), I add to the economy by purchasing resources from other people, and have around a mil credits in the bank.
The point is that the only thing selling cheap does is cause you to have to pull in that many more resources, which means you either need to borrow lots from others or have extra accounts, which means you spend that much extra time fooling with all that extra equipment (reedeeding, maint, power, surveying, etc), which means that for all that extra effort and putting up with whiny customers who complain about paying 3cr per unit you end up making the same or even much much less than someone selling at 6-7-8 cr per unit.
Just my 2 cents.
To make yourself feel a little better about raising prices consider these points:
- If I sell a Heavy Mine to someone at 195k credits and they put that mine on an 80% spot and sell the mined resources at 3 cpu, the harvestor pays for itself in 8 days.
- If both you and I buy our resources for 3 cpu and I charge 9 cpu for a Fusion and you charge 4 cpu, you have to sell 6 Fusions to make the same profit as I make selling1 Fusion.
I too run 8 Heavies and use my own resources but if I run out I don't hesitate to go to the bazaar and buy at 3 cpu. My customers have no waiting period and miners get an income from me.
I had to look at myself and decide if I wanted to sell at low prices and guarantee myself sales or sell high and risk having no sales and sell my resources to pay for maintenance. I decided I would rather be a miner with more time to enjoy the game than a poor architect with no free time. As it turned out, my decision was the right one as the market will support my prices.
Good luck.
