Thread: Experimentation 101 ? : So if the resource does not have any stats necessary what does that mean?

I almost find myself embarrassed to ask this, but...

Reactive Gas and Ore Mining Unit for example: If you use a gas that does not have any UT, does it go in as zero?

Thanks,

Yes, it goes in as zero. Nothing you can do about it though. Some resource types just do not have certain properties. Gases and ores don't ever have conductivity, for instance, but are required in a lot of schematics that are based on conductivity. This might mean it's not even theoretically possible to get those schematics up to 100%, but I don't know that for sure.

Actually, what I've seen leads me to believe that a property only matters if a resource *normally* has that property. Thus, if you need "Chemical" with UT, and you use Lubricating Oil which does not have UT, that goes in as a zero. However, if the schematic specifically calls for Lubricating Oil, and has a UT entry, then the UT entry pertains to another resource, *not* the Oil.

This can be seen in chemical schematics which require "Organics" and "Inorganics", and have entries for "Potential Energy" and "Unit Toughness". The Organic (which could be Wood or Bone with a UT value) only recognizes the PE, and the Inorganic (which could be reactive gas or petro fuel with a PE value) only recognizes the UT.

DOESN'T MATTER:

The new values ARE going away... when you redeed something on TC right now, the deed reverts to the REGULAR, unexperimented numbers.

Even if it's going away for harvesters... it's still valid for other schematics (electronics) that have this contradiction.

The overall quality will be defaulted to the desired stat.

That was from my experience, maybe I'm wrong.
