Please - we've got a serious problem. Some people say the higher extraction rates are going to stay. Some say they are going to be removed. My business is 100% paralyzed at the moment. Nobody wants the old stuff, but I can't sell the new stuff because it might get rolled back to the current rates.
I'm trying not to rant+rave+flame about the way this has been handled, but almost everything about this has made my life and the life of my customers completely miserable.
First there was the proposed schematic nerf. Fortunately that got shouted down. Then there was the hopper-size bug. They said they'd back out the code, but they didn't and it went live. Then there was the fix-up to restore deeds. But some people didn't get the word so they set down harvesters with nerfed hoppers and those DIDN't get fixed.
And, of course, there's the botched status panel for power which has all my customers in a total tizz.
The real prize-winner is the experimentation code. If it stays in, then a medium is nearly as good as a pre-patch heavy, destroying the value of our existing stock. I figure that cost me about 2 million credits. And the new heavies are uneconomical: It used to be that the maintenance on a medium was 60/4 = 15 per hour per unit of capacity and a heavy was 90/7 = 12.8 per hour per unit of capacity. Now the numbers are 60/7 = 8.6 and 90/10 = 9.
By the way, I spent most of the weekend locating and setting up harvesters on 900+ quality materials... believe me, finding 900+ toughness chemical was an interesting challenge (I checked out fiberplast on 7 different planets before I found some good stuff). It would be a shame if that effort was wasted.
And, to top it off, we have no idea what's happening next. I can live with the old way. I can live with the new way - I don't like some of the the numbers but I can live with them. I can live with bugs. But I can't live with the combination of essentially EVERYTHING the devs touch being bugged combined with essentially EVERYTHING the devs say being misleading or wrong.
Please devs - Mercy. You're turning architecture from a boring chore into a nightmare. If this is the closest you can come to love, go love someone else.

Well I'd love to clarify and comment, but to be striaght I don't know what's up yet. I've posted a request for information, so I expect an answer sometime during the next few days. Hang in there
