Does the Data Terminal given under Furniture 3 actually do anything?

Best of my knowledge it does do something...it sits there and looks pretty. Seriously, I don't think the data terminals actually have any use. They are just there to look nice. One of my clients uses it as the computer like thing for his office room in his house.

Purely aesthetic as far as I know.
