Experimentable sounds perfect. So, under your system, a master architect could really make it happen for durability of the product, while a lower level one could still build a functional one, albeit a lower price.

I enjoy dealing with people. It's part of what makes for a community. I've made many friends (some of whom I joined in founding a PA) all because I wanted to buy this or that. This was done from repeat business, notwhen I bought one thing that was outlandishly expensive because the crafter knew s/he had to take their money on the front end because I wouldn't be back to replace that item.

Okay guys. First off I'm no crafter. Never could get into that but I am VERY antsy about the economy. I was wondering what your feelings were on a 2% per day degradation rate on items that do not currently decay?

That would cover structures and clothing first and foremost. I think it's reasonable. Basically that would have you guys looking at a 50 day turnover rate, which would hopefully become staggered after a while so you didn't have a crunch period every 50 days.

"That's what we pay maintenance for," I have heard many of my friends say when I brought this idea up. My answer to that is in real life I pay money to keep the lights on, the water on, and property taxes also. If that were enough, then I should not have had to pay for a new roof this year!

Thoughts? Bear in mind here, I'm just tossing out an idea. Whether its popular or not, something has to be done to conserve you guys and the tailors.

Torn on the whole decay concept.

2% is too much, I think. If I had to buy a NEW medium house in 50 days, something i worked hard for (before I decided to do archi), i would be pretty upset.

Well it's interesting to get this from a non-crafter, thanks for the support. Your numbers are about right, but they should be experimentable. My plan is to have maintenence ramp up as the condition of the structure drops, so that people need to have the structure replaced.

I'm thinking 3 months on the highest prices of our structures. 2 months at the least for the lowest.
