Thread: funniest message i have seen yet
I was on my harvester run yesterday when i get a tell form some guy asking how much a crafting terminal cost. So i reply to him that i build them at 82% quality and sell the for 2500 each. He Then procedes to tell me how i am the scum of the earth and i am overchargeing. He states that there was no way in hell he would ever pay 2500 for a crafting terminal when his house only cost him 3000. He then went on a rant of how if a house only cost 3k furniture for it should cost less than the structure itself and he should be able to fully furnish his home for 2500 and not just get one item.
I was laughing so hard i fell out of my chair. i then put him on my ignore list till further notice.
Just thought i would share that with yall
LOL
When I get tells like that, I usually point them right to swgcraft.com
"look at the resources, buy what you need from the bazaar, and I'll craft it for free for you" I say.
That usually takes care of that.
Yea i don't offer houses for sale anymore. I tellt hem the amount of resources I need to make a house and tell them if they want a house to harvest me the resources or buythem from a resource vendor. if they insist on cash then I tell them7 credits per resource.
When dealing with people like this, I round my resources up and throw it at them.. so on a large house, when someone says that my price (which I find reasonable, as do my customers) of 135k is high, I shoot back "I will do it for 30k plus resources" and when they ask the resources, I reply "26k ore, 6k metal, and some others, but just give me 35k ore and 30k credits and we will be fine.." Many will say things like "ok lemme see what I can get" and come back 20 minutes later with "ok.. how much to just pay cash again?"... hehe. As soon as they realize the best possible deal they can find is at 3 cr per, with most ore being at 4-5 cr per on the bazaar, and having to travel to 3 different planets to get it, all of a sudden the 135k is reasonable.
Then there are the "There was someone selling large houses for 80k earlier" which of course is a guaranteed sale for me, as after some investigation this guy is gonna realize that the guy selling at 80k either needs them to bring some resources, or is so far backlogged that he cant get to it for at least 2 weeks.. I have lost 2 sales of small houses to this, and had one large house customer that keeps asking every night how much it is, then complained about it being too high, and said he will keep shopping. That guy finally came to me the other day and said ok.. but I had 4 PA halls lined up by then, so I had to say sorry, and asked him what happened to his 80k builder..
I;'m not an Architect but I was reading this and I've got a similar story:
Last night, I was with a few friends of mine, and a guy came running around shouting that he wanted to buy lots of more than 500 bones for 3 credits each. I have over 1000 bones, and I thought, "well, I like having the resources for bartering purposes, but if the price is right..." So I sent him a tell offering bones for 7 credits each, since I think that bones are MUCH more difficult to get than other resources, and I've never put much stock in the "3 credits per resource" market mania that seems to have swept SWG). In my mind, it was kind of a "take it or leave it" deal, since I was happy to just keep the bones locked up if he didn't want to pay my price. A few minutes later, I get a tell back saying "r u smokin crack i bought 2000 bones tonite for that price." So I responded that that was fine, he didn't have to buy the bones. The tell I got back after that was, "its guys like you that giveswg a bad name." My only response to that was "LOL."
My take on the situation was that, like other people I have heard of who are selling things in SWG, the potential buyer thought that he could abuse me into getting what he wanted. I've heard that Master crafters get a LOT of angry tells saying that their prices are ridiculous and that they're evil and they the'll never sell anything for their prices. But I believe that it's all smoke, attempts to guilt or scare others into turning over something valuable.
And by the way, I dig the strategy about sending them to swgcraft.com. I don't know why the game itself can't have a way to inspect all schematics so everybody can see just what goes into the items they're hoping to buy. It would shut people up a lot faster when they moan about prices.
