I am having problems with the Bestine Museum "quests", and would appreciate any help.

At what stage do you get the opportunity to buy a painting schematic ... I am guessing I have to finish the quest first, but I would appreciate confirmation ...

At the moment, all the Curator will do is tell me to go and speak to 3 painters.

The first big problem is that the Curator says one of the painters is "at the back of the theatre in Mos Entha" ... but Mos Entha has no theatre ... ! And half of the time, the other painters are not where he says they are either !

If I just report back to him after seeing only 1 or 2 of the painters, he asks me to choose my favourite, and then he thanks me ... and that is all ... !

I have started this quest 7 times over the last 6 weeks, and have never managed to find the third painter (Mos Entha) ... I even hired a Ranger to help, thinking that maybe he was somewhere else in Mos Entha ... but no luck. And I have never been given the chance to buy a schematic.

Hum ... sorry everyone ... have just seen the post about the painting bug on some servers ... I guess we can add Infinity Server to the list ...

But I'd still like to know about the Mos Entha Theatre question ... !

The current round of paintings is in this post. I'll list Infinity as bugged.

FOr future reference, you do not have to do the voting part in order to get the paintings. The voting is optional and not a 'quest' really. Its what determines which painting will be available. Getting the painting schematic is simple as just buying it.... if it isn't bugged.

Okay, thank you Pawlin

Assuming I wanted to do the voting part, any ideas about the missing Mos Entha theatre ? It would be interesting to know if this is part of the server bug ... I wonder if the Curator in non-bugged servers still tries to send people to a non-existent destination, and/or if anyone else has come across this problem.

This old thread in the Items and Loot forum has a list of the locations for the artists with their specific waypoints.

I'd really like to know how the artist selection decides which painting will be chosen. Too bad there isn't a running tally on the voting so we can track how it works.

There are apparently 7 different artists and teh paintings they make are determined. From that thread above the list is:

Lilas Dinhint * Bestine * -1086 -3686 * Museum Curator

They either rotate through specific sets of 3 artsis or randomly pick 3 artists. Then they somehow pick a painting for each artist, either random or maybe in order.

Since we didn't start to see repeats till like 12th or 13th round I'm assuming that its not completely random. If it were purely random then some unlucky server would probably have gotten a repeat within a few rounds. Theres probably a set patter it picks the artists and/or their paintings from. And we only started to see repeats when we've almost exhausted all the possibilities.

The only thing we know for sure is that each artist matches to a defined set of paintings they make.

That can be used to help increase our chances of not getting a repeat.

e.g. if you've already had all 3 golden petals then dont' vote for Boulo Siesi ever again.
