Thread: BER 13 Mineral Harvs ... ?

I'm very perplexed ... I have always been able to make BER 13's before, but recently I have not been able to get above 12.

My Ore Mining Units are all grade 6, my resources are the same as they always were (900+ UT, SR and HR), and I only get "great" and "amazing" successes in both assembly and experimentation.

I'mreally do not understand... anyone have any ideas ?

depending on the% of your final combine and depending on the % of the Ore mining units and not the # will determine the BER rating. an example would be a 95% Ore Mining unit and a 81% finial combine will yeild a BER13 Harvester. The quality of materials used determine the ability to hit the % marks.

Yes, I realise the FAQ deals with "How to make BER 13 harvesters" ... that is how I learned to make them when I first became a Master Architect

My problem/question at the present time, is that I am doing what I have always done, with the same quality resources I have always used, the same quality sub-components I have always used, the same assembly/experimentation successes I have always had ... and I am suddenly hitting only BER 12 ... so I was wondering if anyone else had come across a similar problem.

Ok, first are you aware of the bug in experimentation display that came up with patch 20 yesterday? The stat on the harvester won't change during experimentation. So if it starts as BER 12 then it won't show the increase as you experiment it higher. That could very well make it seem like you're not able to get above 12. But if you put your points into extraction and max it out with great success then the final deed should be BER13 as usual.

If thats not what is happening to you then I'd recommend you make a new OMU schematic and make sure you get the experimentation as high as possible. 95-99% is preferable. BER6 is the max on the stat but that doesn't tell you enough, you might be able to hit BER6 with only 70-80% experimentation and that might not be enough to cap at max BER. I believe theres probably a hidden decimal there and the range 6.0 to 6.9 really matters in the final harvester BER.

Pawlin, I think you have hit the nail on the head ... so thank you.

I think it must be that my previous OMUs were 6.9-ish and these new ones are more like "only" 6.0, so not good enough to get me up to the BER 13 mark.

I'll do what you suggest, and try a new schematic.
