Thread: 2 critical failures in a row

why do i bother. i busted my butt to get to master architect. during the grind i was making items that me and my friends needed and i hardly ever failed. now that i'm a master architect i fail half my attempts.

after about of week of collecting resources to make 2 Heavy Chemical Harvestors and almost a day of factory runs to get the parts needed to make them, 15 minutes ago i sit down in front of my crafting station. get everything together to make them and then hit combine. CRITICAL FAILURE!!!!. ok no biggie. if i can get one out of the 2 tries it wont be too big of a loss, they're for my own use anyways i say to myself. get evetything together for a second try and click combine. CRITICAL FAILURE!!!!. what the hell is going on ???

i don't have time to do destroy missions all day long to make the money needed to fund the architect profession. I have my furniture vendor which does pretty good. it makes enough to keep my harvs running and allows me to buy extras once in awhile. but i certainly don't make enough cash to take losses of 50k in resources for the fun of it.

And this isn't the first time this has happened. it seems to me that the failure to sucess rate at master level is messed up. it almost seems like they're reversed. novice should be failing as much as i am, not master.

in the past 3 weeks i've attampted to make A medium Naboo style house, 2 Fusion Generators, a Small Generic Style house, and 2 Heavy Chemical Extractors. out of all those attempts. i managed to get the fusion reactors and the small generic house. so i'm looking at a 50% failure rate here at Master level on structures.

it's not right.

You are just the lucky one Chysgoda, doesn't seem to help me. And how did you get a +15 tool? I thought 14.94 was the tops for Chilastra.

You can start complaining AFTER a guild hall has failed, which happened to me on the second one I ever built.

I also had 2 critical failures in a row this morning. The first one was on a wall mod., so I thought no way am I going to get 2 in a row so I go for a heavy mineral harvestor. I have a 14.xx crafting station, but it did not help today.

Isn't there a macro to give you the item, although you fail?

** Attn Devs have not said this could be an exploit**

if the item fails and the stuff still remains in the crafting window type this in you chat line.

Type this
/nextcraftingstage x3 (Do this 3 times)
/createprototype

you will not get to name the item but you will see the crafting tool count down and the item will appear in your inventory

I also just got two crit failures in a row, came here to moan about it and see that im not the only one. its strange that i hardly ever get them when making little things components for structures etc...but when i put them together, i fail more than not. Just then another two in a row on medium houses..thats like 60k of resourses down the drain. I also have a 42.something experimented station and a 14.97 or something crafting tool. I agree i was getting less failures at novice level.

Hmmm I have had my problems from time to time with crit fails...my solution was to use my factory to build structure modules (bricks) and then I create the walls manually. It takes a little extra effort but I keep crafting walls till I hit a crit fail, then use that same tool (assuming you carry around several as I do) to build another wall, once it has a success again usually the next time, once in a while 2 crits in a row, I use that tool to then build something big (PA Hall, Heavy Mineral whatever). So sometimes I end up with a few extra walls...it's not like I'm never going to be able to use them. I have also done this making structure modules manually and using them to throw together a small house or something for my vendor. Either way it's not a guarantee but I have not had a major crit when using this method. Although when I am in a hurry and don't follow this I have managed to blow up 2 Heavies.

The final items have a much higher complexity rating than the subcomponents. This I believe is a factor in crit failure rates, and hence why your smaller items don't seem to suffer as much. (Either that or becuase it's such a large item, you take much more notice of a crit failure than you would if it were a structure module).

A post from a long time ago talked about pseudo-random number generators and how they work. If you get a couple of crit failures early in your crafting process, log out and back in to get a new (hopefully better) seed.

Good luck and happy crafting.

I dont care what anyone says about macros anymore ....I use them and am proud of it

You can say I cheat all you want , but Jeassa posted about them saying ANY in game macro was in no way cheating ...

Some of you say its been fixxed and doesnt work , lol O>K

NOT 1 CRIT on a combine in 1 month now ...

All you need to do is experiment on the Mining units or whatever piece pulls the product out of the ground and use the macro for the last part ... Who cares about storage space when you get over 100k

Sorry if you guys disagree or call me a cheater , if SEO said they were cheating I would not be using it , I'll look for the link now

well there are many where she back s up macroing , especially the afk macro ...

But the point is she states time and time again using ANY in game macro is not against the TOS , she even goes as far as saying that the EULA was the same one the EQ had and should be updated to SWG standards
