I believe there is a quest item rug.
Architects can not make them. You might check the Game Guides forum for info on the quest items.

A rug is one of the gifts from the governor candidates in Bestine. I believe there was another rug or decorative wall hanging a long time ago, but I have never seen it.

Does the rug hover a foot above the floor like my paintings which I can not get any closer to the wall?

The rug is about 4 increments above the actual floor. Character's feet will disappear into it as though it's a deep, plush carpet. Objects must be moved up 4 units to appear to be sitting on the rug.

Iam not a tailor, so this might not be correct; Iam trying to get the rugs that are out now but I dont know if tailors are the only ones that can get them or if anyone can make them or do you just find them in loots?
Anyone ane that can help me out I would really appreachate it,

If you mean the blue and orange rugs that are out now, those are loot drops. You need to pick up a loot kit from a junk dealer then collect the items that make up the rugs and put them into the loot kit. To my knowledge just about any humanoid NPC (not critters) drop the parts to all the loot kit items. Hope that helps you out.

as a architect can we make rugs? if so when and how do we get the schematics?

the compents for the orange and blue rug have to be looted. I believe they are very rare, or not around any more at all. Your best beat would be to check the venders for the compents, which i have know idea what they are right off hand. Some one else will have to help u there.

The short answer to this is no, architects can't craft any rugs. In game there are 4 rugs that I can think of off the top of my head that are obtainable by other means. The Blue and Orange rugs are kits that take 10 looted pieces. The pieces are fairly common on vendors, but the adhesives either aren't dropping anymore or are dropping EXTREMELY rarely. You should be able to find the adhesive on a vendor to purchase, but it is probably gonna cost ya. The other two rugs are the ornate rug that you can get from participating in the Bestine election quest and the webweaver blanket that is available through a quest on Kashyyyk.

And the Ornate Rug is received as a gift from Sean Trenwell- Bestine elecction.
But u still can't craft it

And now, you can add 2 more rugs to that list, the 2 factional reward rugs we just received this wwek with publish 20. They're both quite nice.
