Ok...I'm a begining architect, and I've come to find that harvesting my own resources may not always be the best idea (seeing that I still need room for factories, etc). Seems that some architects buy from suppliers...I need to find a supplier that can get me some materials cheap (seeing that I'm starting out).

Also, any advice for a novice would be great. Oh and don't worry, I don't plan to try to undercut anyone's price.

Although some advise doing hours and hours of grinding less complicated schematics, I recommend going up either the building or installations tree first, then making medium houses or installations. It may require more resources and take a little longer to wait for those resources, but it's alot less tedious (IMO) to do it that way. While your resources are gathering, you can work on your other skills.

When I was going up the architect ladders, it only took me 3 medium houses and 1 smallto get from medium buildings to large. Same for the others.

Just a suggestion if you're not into the long hours of crafting the same thing over and over.
