Hi all, hoping maybe you guys know what is going on here..

I had a large generic house on corellia for a while now and had lots of decorations and crafting stuff in it. I had all my crafting resources in travel packs for convenience.

My house status said I had about 135 items in the house. I suspect I probably had more than that if you count what was in the backpacks, but I am not certain.

I recently picked it all up and moved into a brand new Generic PA hall, also on corellia. It had nothing in it until I put my stuff down.. Then, well before I was able to drop everything, it said the structure was full.(250)

How could my other house be reading the numbers so far off? Are items in travel packs supposed to count against your total? And of course.. did something change recently that is causing this to be an issue now when it has not been before??

Thanks,

Lasek

A few weeks ago they changed it to 75 items per lot used by the structure, with a max of 250 for any structure.

I remember that lot change, but between yesterday and today (fri/sat) my house items went from 119 to 170. I checked the vendors to make sure it wasnt a move to the stockroom, but there was nothing that had changed. And looking around, I dont think I have as many items as it says.

250 is max on a PA hall as well?

Something did fluctuate in the item counting yesterday.

Not exactly sure what the Hell happened but by yesterday evening it was fixed.

Last night at 11-12 PM central time it was only letting my PA hold 250 items. These same "250" items where previously all stored in a large generic house and that house only thought it had about 135 items in it.

I *think* the PA is counting the contents of backpacks and the house was not doing so. As early as 8pm last night I was able to drop several more items in that Large house and did not get a storage problem so at that point nothing was causing a problem there.

Oh, and if the limit really is 75 items per lot a PA hall should store 675 items, not 250.. is this a bug or what? heh

Just like Lasek said in message number 2. 75 per lot with a max of 250. That means a MAX of 250 items for large houses and PA halls.

You may have had some packs in a pack in a pack deal that was fixed in various patches but, you wouldn't notice it till you took the stuff outand tried putting it back.

If it was only showing 135, then there was still stuff that you hadn't touched that was effected by an old bug that they patched. You just didn't see the difference until you picked it up and tried putting it down again. It's like having a pre-patch weapon, you had pre-patch a storage method that was rendered illegal by the new system and thus wouldn't let you put it back

They can do hot patches to fix storage bugs as they find them too.

Hmm, 250 items for that large a building seems awfullow to me but ok, maybe they will adjust that someday since they are designed for more than one person to occupy.

I didnt have any bags inside of bags before. The only thing that I can tell is different is that individual items inside the backpacks are counting towards my storage where they did not before (or where doing so at a reduced rate such as an equipped backpack does)

The stuff in those bags was resouces and was regularly rotated through as we used them. We also used a crate that we stored finished items in before they went to vendor. Those items where not previously counting towards our total either. Basically, I know we had been "touching" the items in the house frequently, the only thing we had not done in a while was actually pickup any of the backpacks then re-drop them.

I certainly dont expect them to let us have a practically unlimited storage space in a house by using backpacks, but I do think two things would be good.

1) have containers in a house scale their "size" based on the contents similar to the way an equipped backpack does for player inventory.

2) PA halls should have about double the storage space as a Large house. (uses more lots for one thing, and is much larger interior space)
