Thread: declare residance???
To expand just a bit on the previous reply...
As a crafter I have a similar problem. Here's my workaround. Put your friend's house in or near a conveniently located player city. You can call mounts and vehicles anywhere in said player city, no residency required.
Own/declare residence in the house furthest from a city (player or npc).
If you cannot do this, make the non-residence a public building (set an absurd entry fee if you want to keep the looky-loos out). Pets can be called INSIDE any public building that is not in a NPC city. Vehicles cannot, but you can use the mount to a city, swap for the vehicle when you reach the city.

If your using it for the sole purpose of calling petsor vehicles just by some tents from a local vendor. Leave them in your house until you get ready to venture off and grab a couple. That way you can call you mount from anywhere.

no... you have to have the house under your direct owner-ship or you can't declare residance.
The camping solution works only if you have novice scout. As an armorsmith/ tailor/ merchant, I lack the skillpoints to also have novice scout -hence the housing work-around.
While players are asking for the ability to set a basic camp as long as they are required for calling vehicles and mounts, so far there has been no indication that this will happen.
