Thread: BER10 Mediums Huh? How? Why?

First I couldn't make 'em, the medium mineral BER10's. Ended up as 9's.

Then some good steel came, and for 2 days nowI've made only BER10's. No problem at all - always had 2 experiment points left to use for storage. Easy.

Last night, (usin' the same minerals, the same light ore mining units from factory crate, same small storage from factory crate and same generator turbine from factory crate) I could not craft one single BER10! Reached 90% in experiment and still a BER9.

What've just happend? Can anyone else still make BER10's without a schematic?

yes..
But with 2 experimentation points over I'd use a little less good steel

If your using a high experimented light ore mining unit (which is about a 90 to 93% experiment result) made with a steel that has 900+ shock/ut/heat and using this same steel inside the final assembly and experiment it up to the max, there is no way it can deny you a BER 10 medium. Yourdoing the 2 criticalsteps to a max rate. If you are doing so and still not getting a BER 10, which i find strange you are not since your getting a 90% on the final assem, thenmy friend you have a nasty bug on your hands. Experimentation was jacked up with the patch. % that used to get us certain results before do not get us them now. As for what changes were made, if it was even a change and not a bug, then i sure didn't hear about it. I've experienced this same problem when making crafting stations and heavy harvs. Experimenation % that got me max rates was getting me 1 or 2 BER points below even with my good resources, so i changed and used only 900+ UT/Shock/Heat on both the sub and the final assem and i hit my max rate no matter what other resources like the chemical and the ore needed in some harv stats were. That's the only method to combat this stupid bug or whatever it is, or find you some nice chemical high i shock or some nice ore with good UT, shock or heat if you lack a 900+ UT/Shock/Heat metal, steel preferbly.

The only steel I have is 100k of some stuff with over 950 in UT, SR and HR. And, coz it's the only steel I have - it's also the only steel I've used for all components and final crafting. Still no BER10's.

I had a lot of experimentation prbs last night too, i often had moderate/good successes instead of great/amazingd. Cranked out a lot of BER 9's before i was able to get the 10s going again.

I play right now, and 5 minutes ago I made a medium harvester. I hit BER10 at 80%-85% and had one experiment-'slot' empty on efficiency (and also 2 experiment points left),

When it was finished I made one more, all components from the same crates as the one before and same steel and ore. This time I reach 90%, have no experiment points left and it's still a BER9. Bug, or just something that can happen? What do I need to make a BER10? 100%

Well for the looks of it I would have say you need to take a look or even remake your Light ore mining units. With a 90% in the Efficiency Experimentation part, I would be more then willing to bet that the BER on those mining units is a 3.

Agreed. Basically I *ignore* the "rating" of the mining component and just drive the quality as high as possible. My experience is that if I get the mining component into the 90s (like 93-96%) then I'm going to be successful on making the top-rated harvesters. I make sure that I label the schematic with the final percentage, so I have crates of "LOMU +94% 1217" around and I know *exactly* what I have on hand.

The stats of my light ore mining units are ber4 and experimented to 97%.

I'm gonna try and make a BER10 now with undone, non-crated andfresh components and see what happens

I know you said you are using the same ingrediants etc... but make sure the ore you are using also has >900 stats and even more important, that the chemical you are using is Lube oil with NO HR, SR or UT stats.

2nd thing is, when you make a ber 10 first time, hit the schematic button and run em in a factory, then you won't have these kind of problems until you run out of schematic components.

I don't see how you get it to 97%. I use high resources on mine, and hit 95% with sometimes one or two exp points left over, and if I experiment those points, it never goes past 95%. I'm dubious that your LOMU is at 97%.

Ifound out what the problem/bug is...

I dragged the crate into the crafting-slot, and I make BER9's. I took the components out of their crates before crafting, and I can make BER10's. Hurray for me.

I douse lube oil, but my ore is some crap with 200 in stats

Thanx for tryin' to help guys!

Oh, and btw... BetaZoob, when I say they're 97% - they ARE 97%
