Thread: Factory stopped working?

Ok, I have a factory that my friend made for me. I have run off 3 or 4 runs of 100 items in it. The last batch stopped when it had only finished 84 (or so) items.

So I go check it out. Plenty in the maint pool, plenty of power reserves. I list the needed ingredients - it tells me the proper ingredients but the count says 0. I open the input hopper, and find some of the resources left over - but there is also a small (6?) stack of resources in there of the same type that I used in a previous run... but they were definitely not in there when I started the latest run.

I go to the schematic slot, and it has a different schematic listed than the one I was running (it was the one from 2 runs ago). I remove the schematic, and I get the one from 2 runs ago out, into my datapad, but with 0 count.

I clear everything out. I load in a new schematic. I load in resources. I switch it on. A minute later I get an email saying that it's stopped with 0 items produced.

I look in the input hopper - enough resources for 1 item have vanished. Nothing is in the output hopper. Still lists the proper schematic, still with 100 count. Still has power and maint.

Tried re-logging, etc... same problem.

Anyone else having this problem? Any workarounds? Devs? Help?

maybe someone else has a suggestion...

but if it has power and resources it should work..

they sometimes just stop for no apparent reason...i was never able to figure it out...

it might have something to with crashes and rollbacks

I left it alone for a few hours, then my friend who has admin access (but can't use any of the hoppers) turned it on and it worked. After that it continued to work for me also. *shrug* Also, my harvesters that had disappeared were back. Hopefully all will continue to function properly .

First I ran into the bug in which the factory does not let a person who was added to the admin and hopper list, ..... does not let the person access the input and output hoppers. That was fun.. Now only one person in our group can use the thing.

Next I now run into the fact that the factory does not make the items I created. I made a schematic for a pistol..DL44 to be exact.

I already made the other schematics and made the items in the factory needed for the pistol. I then started to build it and I got about 4 made. Then it just stopped. It had 20 more uses in the thing. It did not care though. The blaster-power handler worked fine. It ate one even though it did not create the item. Its the Blaster-Pistol Barrel. It sometimes works.. sometimes not. I tried everything to get it working. I am not sure what made it work last time, but now it does nothing but send me an email that it created 0 items.

So first thing I do is check the seriel numbers and compare it to the ingredients needed list. They are an exact match.

Please devs these factory bugs really hurt and need to be fixed asap.

Still have not found a fix for this. Only seems ot bother my actual weapon creating. I am not sure what to do.. I can make the power handlers and barrles atleast then put the guns together by hand resulting in a pretty nice item but not that great.

This is a common bug that happens to myself and my friends many times a day. There is no solution except waiting --OR--doing this quick fix:

Remove items from output and input hoppers.

Make sure 2500 Maintanence is in building.

Reclaim deed.

Place factory again.

This fixes the problem 100% of the time. Is it a bitch to do? Yes. Does it waste resources? Yes. But if you need the part, you need the part.

Try this...

Face away from your factory.. turn off ctrl-m

Burst run away and turn ctl-m back on until you no longer see you factory on it.. loop around and come back..

Try it again. This works on harvestors that wont let you in the hoopers.

and NO I'm not kidding.,..
