Thread: N00b arc question...
Hey all,
I picked up novice arc a few days ago, crafted a small house for myself, stocked it with goodies and have another deed to sell... I'm running this as a very small opperation, I don't have the desire to grind grind grind and use lots of my friends for more harvesters and pay through the nose for maintenance fees, I just don't have that kind'a time, and it just is'nt fun to me. My main question is this: With the 2 mineral harvesters I have producing ore, the resources have shifted (of course) and I now have 2 different types of low grade ore in the hopper... will I be able to make a deed with structural units (forgot the exact name, the things that look like cinder blocks) with different types of ore, or do all 10 units have to use the same name ore.. and does what I just asked make sense?

What you asked makes sense.
In the schematic, when something says SIMILAR structural modules, it means basically that any structural modules will work with any other. I have made some with silicastic, some with carbonate, and some with extrusive, and never have I had a problem with mixing them to make anything. In a structural module, for example, there are 2 spots for ore. As long as you fill each of the 2 spots with the exact same type of ore, you're fine. You can put one kind of silicastic in one of the spots and one kind of carbonate in another. As long as you don't try to fill half the slot with one ore and half with another, things are fine.
When the schematic calls for IDENTICAL, that's a different story. I haven't made any of the large structures yet that call for it, but my impression is that not only do you need these to be made from the same materials, but they need to be made from a factory, and from the same schematic. I could be very wrong on this, but from what I've read, that's my understanding.
Hope that helps, and good luck!

Yes, that's true. Identical means it must be made from a factory with the same schematic, all using the same exact ingredients.
Similar is just as you described.
