THis has already been covered many other places...

But the short answer is that the maintenance rates are by the half hour. So if you see 45 for maintenace, that is actually 45x2x24 for a whole days maintenance.

But that won't solve your whole maintenance dilemna; as most harvesters periodically and randomly charge you double maintenance rate. So if your harvester tells you it is good to go for 2 days, you better be back in 1 day or you may be facing some steep repair costs. Devs are not doing their jobs, and are off busy devising nerfs rather than even acknowledge the problem; so don't expect a fix anytime soon.

Power rates seem to work correctly for the most part.

I've never had this problem before. In fact every harvester I've ever used has been more or less precise with the time left on it.

As for the devs not doing their jobs, read the posts on the main board. They aren't really concerned about you needing an extra 1k of credits to power your harvester but instead are more concerned about server stability at this point. At least you understand that there won't be a fix anytime soon, but what's an extra 1k credits for you here and there?

That is just not right.

They are more concerned with nerfs than anything else. Just look at the average patch. They always find time for a couple more nerfs. They have yet to fix this, and it has been broken since day 1.

Agreed. They are nerfing to slow us down so they have more time to fix things.

Well, I was doing some calculations the other day, trying to figure out a simple way to calculate harvester costs. I read that it's 600 units of power a day to power a personal mineral extractor with a power rate of 25. I then used the equation..

units_input / rate = time

So we have, 600 units/ 25 = 24 hours. This means that it consumes power at a rate of 25 units/hour. This seems logical enough.

However, when I looked at maintenance costs, I calculated that the same harvester consumes 720 credits/day for maintenance. This time, the consumption rate is 15. So, using the same equation...

720 units / 15 = 48 hours. What!? Wait a minute, 720 credits only buys me 24 hours, not 48! This can only mean that the credit maintenance rate on harvesters is 15 credits per half an hour. How bizarre.

The trend continues through to power generators and medium harvesters (and most likely to heavy harvesters, haven't checked myself). On all of them, the power rate is always [number_given] units per hour, and the credit maintenance rate is always [number_given] units per half an hour. Why such a weird unit for maintenance rates? Is this intended or a calculation error?

Apologies if this has already been covered.
