Thread: What makes a private crafting station private?
I assume you're talking about how high-level items requre a "private crafting station" to make?
This just means it has to be a player-crafted station as opposed to the ones you find in town.
But I don't believe the house has to be private for the station to qualify as a "private station" for the purposes of schematics.
Speaking of which, my DE friend seems to think that "private" means "self-owned" and that he won't be able to craft advanced stuff unless he buys a station for himself. I say he can use mine, since he has access to my house.
Can anyone verify this? Does the crafter actually need to own the station for the highest level items?
Any"Private Crafting Station" that is made by a player can be used by anyone, regardless of whether you are an admin of the house or not. There are times when I am out in the field and need to craft something, so I just go find a public house with a "Private Crafting Station" and use it.
You don't have to own the house, nor do you have to own the station - all you have to do is be near it.
Hope this helps.

And to be honest. Optional components do jack **edit**. Waste of time and materiels. Unless someone can prove me wrong. I fail just as often with one that Fully experimented and installed all options to. Similiar experiments on crafted items yielded no extra abilities or higher thresholds then the materials allowed. Maybe in a month or ten, that might be different. But for now. As long as its player made, and in a player house. Anyone can use it, and you can use it to make the more advanced items.
I have seen stations cease to function entirely. In beta our guild hall had one like that and we had to make another. Unless they have fixed it, the structure stations around the Moenia guild halls are non functional still (starsider). But this is hardly private lol.
You are supposed to be able to add 5 driod storage compartments to a station and have the ability to store stuff inside them. I have not been able to make this work, nor found how this would add anything to the station if I did get it to work. Seems to me another totally useless feature.
As for all those other things that can be added, I have tried them all and have seen absolutely no difference in performance. Unless the performance is both hidden in the code of the game somewhere and so slight to not be noticable, it doesn't exist at all. I never use them, as they are a waste of time.
As in everything else in architecture, experementation gives no bonus whatsoever. I am still waiting on someone to provide me with a testable case that proves that statement wrong

"...**edit**, I smell good!"
ok correct me if im wrong but from what I remimber the crafting stations with all the "optional" parts. gives you the abilaty to store resorces in them.
To do so you must use your crafting tool and where the output hopper tab isthere will be an input hopper oneas well.
All I know is during Beta my station with all the parts had that input hopper and my station now without them does not.
What's the lowest level architect items that need a private station, or are there any?
The storage option seems to be broken, taken out most likely because some losers were exploiting it for infinite storage.
I just made one with all the parts and the storage does not show up. It did in beta, but not after the storage nerf.
