Architect Archive
Thread: New Architect in training needs help.
Personally, I moved up the Domestic Tree as well, and I was able to craft Travel Packs for about 140XP each, plus the UXP for people buying them, they sold like hotcakes.
May or may not work for you.
Before you read on, I am an unrepentant grinder.
You have really two choices to get to novice architect. Speed or non-grind. I hate to frame it that way, but if you have the resources you can make it in a few hours of making survey kits or crafting kits. It is probably the most boring part of the progression up to master architect, but it's a hurdle that you have to cross. I now am working on weaponsmith, so I stupid enough to have done that grind twice.
Or you can make items for sale and use, but...
You need SO much experience to make it to Novice Arch that you will be flooding the market with whatever you make. Say you decide to make power-ups (which are an efficient thing to make btw), well they ARE useful. Now do the math and figure out how many you are actually going to make. How many are you actually going to sell? If you do put them all on teh market I bet you lose money as you will never sell them all and you'll be losing 20 credits in a couple weeks when the bazaar kicks them out unsold. OR you can sell them at a price that will sell, undercutting other people and driving the price downward for a long time so that few people can make a profit on them.
Or you can grind the items but NOT destroy them. Buy a house (yeah I know, but what can you do) and drop them in the house so you can sell them later.
This game doesn't require grinding. But if you DONT grind, at least at this one skill hurdle, you will be at a crawling speed for a long time. Hours will become days, at least from my point of view. I am sure there will be others who will disagree with me.
On the positive side, once you make Novice Architect almost everything you "grind" on will be something you will want to save for later. I made our PA Hall with a wall segment I made the first day I was a novice. You can go from novice to master on structural mods and wall mods and never consider deleting one.
Just my 0.02 credits worth.

I got to Novice Architect by making bone armour chestplates and leggins. They use a lot more resources and still sell so it worked both for making some money and getting better xp.
