Thread: Question about using factories
I am making micro sensor suites. I made 50 of each subcomponent, then made the schematic for the micro sensor using one subcomponent from each crate. So far, so good. Each schematic was for 100, even though I am only making 50 at this time of each.
Now, I put all this in and it make the first 25 ok, then stops. It took one out of one of the crates and left it in the input hopper by itself. It alsoused upthe required other resources for one item.
Now, I removed that one and started it again. This time it took 1 from two of the crates, plus the other resources and then dropped back to out of service.
I then took everything out, and tried again. It keeps stopping at that point. There is power and maintenance money. The schematic shows 75 uses left.
Anyone seen anything similar using a factory?
Don't put factory crates in the input hopper, they won't work. Take all the items out of the crate and put them in the hopper themselves. Also, because of a bug, you have to have at least one more of each component than you would normally need in the input hopper. For some reason it won't use the last of any component in the hopper, and will instead eat some resources and stop.
Thanks. I will try that. It had been using them from the crates, but only when I had 2 crates of each in the hopper. That must be what happened.
So, it looks like it will take from crates if you have an extra crate in there, beyond what you need.
I put in a crate of 25 of each and a crate of 24 of each and it used up the crates of 25 then stopped.
Thanks again for the tip. I was about to try that, but have not been able to get back into Intrepid. It seems Intrepid has been chosen as the Open Beta Server Stability Test Bed.
