Can anyone confirm how close you must be to your factory in order to get exp while it runs? Some people have said you need to be within a few hundred meters while others said same planet. Just trying to get an idea.

Thanks

No one really knows, do they?

All I am certain of is that my factory is within about 60m of the parts of my house furthest from it, within 50m of my crafting area.

When I slap something into the factory I go and sit at my crafting station and knock out more pieces while I wait and I get the XP just fine.

When I very first used the factory I made 50 Structural Modules, I stood and waited near the factory as the first two were created and watched the XP drop in. Great, I thought, works fine and I headed off to Mos Entha not giving it another thought. About an hour later I got an email from the system telling me the job was done and I checked my XP. Not a single additional point above the 1000 I watched drop in while near teh factory. I lost 24,000 XP.

I sent a /bug and a CSR ticket. The CSR replied that it was a known bug, being looked into.

From what I understand you should be able to turn it on and let it run WITHOUT having to stand and look at a building that does nothing. What is the point of it if you have to stand and babysit? I can crank the pieces out faster by hand, anyway.
