Thread: Purchased Crafting Stations Skipping Steps 4 and 5
I purchased 8 crafting stations from amaster architectnamed Hawkslayer on the Naritus server.
I give set to my wife and a set for myself.
We place them in the houses we own and when ever we try to use them they skip steps 4 and 5 in the artisan and experimentation process.
Question is Why ?
Are they bugged stations ?
All of our characters are also on the admin list of both houses they are in.
Qur main characters own the houses with secondary artisan crafters added to the admin list ?
Do we need to try giving the stations to the artisan characters and having them redeed the houses and then set thestations themselves ?
Or was something done to the stations during the creation process which prohibits our toons from doing artisan experimentation on these stations ?
If you check, they probably aren't giving you the advanced schematics either. Basically, the crafting station doesn't work. I think it's a bug.
I had several of them myself. I gave one to a friend of mine and he said it worked for him.
I could never get mine to work for me at all, even taking it to different planets and putting down new houses.
The ones that didn't work for me I traded to others and had them check it out and it wouldn't work for them either.
I eventually destroyed mine.
if your crafting stations are too close to each other, it will sometimes pick up the wrong one. This goes for droids with craftig stations inside of them near you at the time.
Also make sure your tool MATCHES exactly the crafting station.. I have loads asking why their weapon crafting station doesnt work when thye are using the generic crafting tool.. you MUST use the crafting tool that matches the name of the station
Aye, mine do this to me every now and then when I first come to the station. After the first one it misses, it will grab the 2nd one. Make sure you are directly in center of the station. I have had a heck of a time with mine soemtimes. I have had my crafting pick up the station and give me the experimentation in another room and then have had it not pick up at all standing right beside it.
Stand right against it center front. Also, like others have said, make sure they are not too close together and not touching each other and not too far into the walls.
It only hits me now and then but not everytime. If it's foing you everytime, then try moving it.
I am sure you are probably doing this but, I have to suggest it anyway.
Make sure you are using the proper tools. The crafting stations require the use of the specialized tools and not the General Crafting tools.
You need a Food/Chem tool being used in front of a Food/Chem station for instance.
Here is how you fix it
Pick up the station.
Go to the closest starport.
Buy a ticket to another planet(hopping to another city won't work).
Travel to the other planet, then come back.
Place the station back down, and it will work fine.
This has resolved the issue for all my customers who had this issue.
I don't claim to know the exact reason for why this fixes it, but it does.
Something happens when you move from one planet to another that fixes what's broken with the station.

I have also seen crafting stations fail to work in the following circumstances:
When a medical droid is deployed and within close proximity of you or the station
Solution:
Store (or get rid of) medical droid
Cross a server boundary (or take a shuttle somewhere/switch planets)
Come back
Two crafting stations are overlapping or touching
Solution:
Use /movefurniture to seperate them
Crafting droid is in within close proximity of the station
Solution:
Store Crafting droid.
