Thread: No news is good news?
Hey everyone,
I haven't been logged on SWG in a week now. My house probably blew up and whatever harvesters I had up as well. I check in every now and then to see if any changes were made, on live or on test, and I don't see anything new.
I read the threads here and they're pretty much the same topics that I saw from day one. Holocron said Q-3PO and Blair went on vacation for two weeks, and not to expect any updates until they're back.
The petition, at 130 signatures, has not gotten any acknowledgement.
Sorry folks, don't know what else to tell you.

well currently alot fo architects are experiencing higher than normal crit fails ..... like in the 40 to 50% range
thx for your work Zarcath.... and you too Cyberthug
There really isnt much we can do but say the same stuff over and over again or talk about what else they can add in. But the thing is, with barely any of the bugs that need desprate fixing not being fixed any time soon, there is nothing for us to do.
Sorry folks, don't know what else to tell you.
I'd suggest this, in fact I have suggested this a lot lately:
If you find the game too annoying to enjoy, cancel your subscription. Maybe come back after you hear of improvements. It is pretty obvious that the time scale for 'significant improvement' in this game will be months, rather than weeks.
Thanks for trying, Zarcath.
I'm with ya. There's not enough of us or enough game breaking issues for our voices to be heard. So we can fade quietly into oblivion for a while. Life goes on.
Thanks again for all of your great efforts. You really did a great job, and didn't get nearly enough credit for it.

I really do appreciate the effort our coresponants have put in. I actually applied for the job and thank the maker they didn't pick me. If offered the job today, I would decline it. yesterday 2 of the corespondants posted in the general discussion forum just to be heard. There is a silence from the developers that is deafening.
The corespondant idea is starving from neglect. Good idea, but it hasn't made any significant effect on the game. We got lots of promises that things will be fixed, but as far as I can tell across the professions, little to nothing has actually been done.
Perhaps this will change when they hire someone to act as a community liason, but I thought the corespondant was supposed to be that person. Sigh. They just don't have time for us. Sorry guys. We are not on their action item lists.
By the time architect issues really get looked at and decisions are made, I am sure the new crop of architects will enjoy that profession more. I wish you luck.
Thanks for your effort Zarcath.
I've done the same as you, I'm hardly on any more either, just hoping, longing for improvements. Unfortunately I was one of those stupid **edit**s who paid for a whole year's subscription.
What the hell was I thinking?
Cheers,
Morlok
Holocron has posted recently saying that developers are not allowed to post on any SWG forum. All they can do is read them and if they want to post something they have to go through one of the forum mods.
Our poors dev's are locked in a cage by SOE and need to escape so they can be free to program.

This post was made 11 days ago. So it seems that our correspondent has left SWG and even if he still plays its not often enough to keep in touch with how the average architect feels or deals with on a daily basis. He has lost touch with what is going on in game and with how bad the economy is in reference to Architects. Above and beyond this it seems as if he has totally stoped any activity on the boards. Not only has Architecture died as a viable profession but our profession has lost its voice. The correspondent was supposed to sift through the many posts and decide what was important what, was not and summarize for the Dev team what is our biggest priorities without this voice it will become much more difficult for us to get our issues delt with.

The Devs ignored him.. He was wasting his time. That is a TON of work with NO return. I would have quit too.

Yeah I went for the one year sub too, so Im stuck here one way or another for the long term =(
Im thinking of firing up a character on the Test server and living there until things improve.
On the flip side things could be worse. While Im hanging on to my Master Architect, I decided to go Droid Engineer, and let me tell you they have it bad =(
Sucks to be us.

in my experience with mmorpgs...pentions never do anything :/
well...they get people pumped up about an issue, and usually they just get let down...
