I just got furniture 3. According to the list in the skill window I can now make ballot box terminals and data terminals.

First of all do the data terms do anything or are they just for show? And secondly, I dont have the option to craft the ballot box version. Not with a general tool, structure and furn tool, stand alone, near a public station or near a private station. I'm not sure what I need to do to make it. Any ideas?

Use the armour and weapon tool to craft ballot boxes.

actually the ballot box is at the bottom of the list underneath the furniture now on your structure crafting tool. You may need to be standing in front of a private crafting station to get it /shrug

Cred is correct, it's in structure crafting tool at the bottom, however, it can be found if you're by a public crafting station (I did it last night). You do need a crafting station though.

data terminals are a waste at the moment -.-

you have to use identical electronics parts (which require you to be a master artisan and have a factory or buy parts from someone that has that)

and they dont sell for too much, and to top it all offthey dont do anything X.x

do the ballot boxes work?

The ballot box cannot be picked up. I also think whatever ballot you put in it will get erased when the server resets every day.

Are you playing a different game? The armor and weapon tools/stations are different things

Anyway, I'm pretty sure you use the General crafting station for these, and you have to be standing pretty close. But I could be wrong, it could be the structure one. I stopped making them because people who bought them complained that they can't use them for banking and can't move them once placed.

They are currently useless. They sold well for awhile until people realized this. In a vendor/bazaar, the category says something like "banking terminal" so people were assuming they could buy a bank terminal for their house, and must not have read the actual name.

Don't make a ballot box!

I slapped one down in the middle of my crafting room to see what it looked like about 6 weeks ago and it has sat there ever since. You cannot pick it up. You cannot move it. You cannot destroy. And it doesn't even work properly.

Philomorph, you actually used to use the weapon/generic tool to craft ballot boxes... somewhere in one of the last several patches it got moved to the structure tool... took me a while to find it one night then found it all by itself below the rest of the furniture.
