With the new changes, I have been picking up BER4 personals for 3k each and using those instead of my old mediums. I am a combat medic and so I don't need to be getting huge quantities of stuff every day, but when stuff I do need spawns (its all rare), I need to get a good supply. I also need alot of types...chem, gas, mineral, fauna, water.

Am I insane just switching to BER 4 personals instead of upgrading to BER7 mediums?

Depends on what you need, and how fast you need the materials.

The advantage of personals is you can place them where mediums cannot be placed. If it is working for you, then keep it up.

Why not have a stash of both? Personals can be placed in some hellish terrain, somewhere you'd never get a medium/large into. Why not use the personals for those areas and use the mediums for those nice wide open expanses?

If you can get a steady supply of the Personals, and maybe even strike a deal to by in bulk to reduce the cost more,then I would stick with them for the mobility. You will not gather as much resources in the long run, but you can place the personals and add just enoughpower and maint to last the timeframe you need it to, then stop by and clean out the hopper and destroy thepersonal instead of reclaiming... If the price is right, you could save money by destroying the harvestors and placing new ones instead of redeeding and paying the redeed fee. ^_^

As I see it, the 4kg Personals are more valuable to have on hand now. So often I find a good spot, but before there is room for a med/hvy (space or terrain) it drops to a weak conc. At least 4kg is a decent amount to pull if you can't fit a larger one.
