Thread: For those wanting to know about BER14 heavies....

Here is a happy snap of a schematic that I made earlier;

http://www.imagedump.com/index.cgi?pick=get&tp=51309

These are not fantasy driven myths - these are real folks, and some of us have made a few in the time given, and have enough resources to make many more (I have schematics for 1000 x BER7 OMUs and 1000 x BER7 Turbo Fluidic Drives....and the resources to make them as well).

I did these with only 10 points experimentation, and have a very sneaky suspicion that after the patch change, I (and others with the schematics) will be able to make many more BER14's for a while to come. And if we need to use 11 points (or even 12 points) to do it, be assured that we will try.

For what its worth, I for one didn't bother about making the mediums as having a BER11 to me was stupid (I always thought the 10's where a monument to stupidity only requiring structure modules and not walls - but there you go ). And aside from 5 x BER14's that I am auctioning on Valcyn, I consider that at this stage, the 14's I have won't make it past my own fleet, PA friends and city residents.

(This is of course assuming that they don't get nerfed themselves after the patch of the patch . Though as anyone with a BER26 Fusion will tell you "yeah right, that'll be the day".)

The whole experimentation issue was something they should of persisted with. Instead because they listened to the dabblers and the whiners and those who have no idea about sourcing or mining or using decent resources - they ditched it and declared "we are listening to our customers". So thanks to them, we now have a bitsa patch that makes no one happy.

So will these drop the prices of existing units? not if I can help it they won't. The ones I am auctioning are being priced by the market at a premium of 20% above the cost of a BER13 and I hope they get priced at 30% above 13's.

The only way for these to affect the market is if the undercutters move in and do their normal stupid "lets drive down the price and corner the market 'cause we can" style of game play.

And if you do leave the profession - its because we are the only profession where the novices can make just as a good a product as the Masters. And thanks to the dabblers and whiners this will now not change.

I for one am sticking around as I love the job and the things we do.

I'm a MASTER ARCHITECT , have been for over 7 months now and am damn proud of it.

There's my final product of the day... I got the schem for that on the first try, but took like 6 to get the OMU up to BER 7. Only have 10 experimentation points as well. After I made the schem for this, I attempted 8 Heavy Gas and 6Medium Mineral with no luck. A few 99%'s, but no good.

Oh well, guess I ended up more fortunate than others who couldn't get the amazing's required to get 100%...

Right on Stuman.

I was able to make BER 7 Ore, Turbo Fluidic, and Heavy harvesting modules last night. Made several schematics to accomodate the resources available.

I was able to successfully make a BER 14 Heavy Mineral and a Heavy Flora. I wasn't having any luck with the Deep Crust Chems and didn't want to waste my time on moistures or gas.

So it was an interesting night, its been a long time since i've been that excited about doing arch stuff. And it certainly is an achievement. Though every putz with a few hours will probably be able to do it now.

As for selling the BER 14s, i'll probably list them at 100% markup from the ber13s, just cause the work involved. But if they become more common place then the price will drop down.

I would hope that many others take your lead on this Stu, I too have been proud to be an architect, the profession I chose and have stuck with since the day I started. As I have said before, I have no beef with anybody who makes good money out of their fortune, to my mind this is the only way that good can come out of the temporary 'blip' that SOE chose to serve up, charge a premium for what is exceptional (god knows we don't have much we can say that about) but don't drive down the price of the 'normal standard'. I don't believe that SOE would dare to 'nerf' the schematics that have been made, that would make them even bigger fools than I believe them to be right now.I have stated that I may leave architect, but I will take a few days out to see what effect the BER14s and 11s have on the 13s and 10s, if it is survivable I wll stay, if not I will consider taking a sabatical and my 'fighting-fish' will go and try to kick some ass for a while. I have absolutely loved being an architect, I hope the profession has not been damaged too much by this whole sorry affair. I only hope that SOE take some notice of the uproar that is going on in all crafter professions right now.

I have successfully made schematics for all medium and all large harvesters.

I even went as far as to make my the final combination schematics for the BER 14 Flora, Mineral, and Chemical.

better check the dev forum about experimentation changes, i believe you are misinformed about these so called whiners. Read the threads there and you will see why this was a very bad idea.Until you are better informed i would have to say you really dont know what your talking about, concerning the whiners getting this change removed.

Guess what just because it benefits us as architects does NOT mean that it is a good change. I can say this with certainity as most of our 10-12 point armorsmiths, chefs and weaponsmiths on Intrepid tested this out yesterday. Guess what many items were way worse with 12 points of experimentation and the best resources. Just because Architects use a SINGLE line of experimentation doesn't mean that this system is good for others. Your complaining about the system going back makes you as much a whiner as anyone else.

By the way, I am 0/4/4/0 Architect (surrendered Master a while back) with +25 Structure Experimentation/+25 Structure Assembly Tapes. I made schematics for BER7 Ore Mining Units, BER7 Turbo Fluidics, BER7 Heavy Harvesting Mechanisms, and of course BER14 Heavy Harvestors all types. Also I made schems for 44.52 crafting stations, 15.00 crafting tools, 100.0 repair tools, etc. All SINGLE line experimentation. The fact of the matter was if you used less than the best materials, harverstors weren't getting to BER14.
