Thread: We dont care what you can make under the new system

Every crafter has already stated, the new experimentation rule are unacceptable. There is no way ANYONE will be able to make good stuff under the new rules so they are not to be implemented.

Everyone was cheering when it was anounced that the new rules would be pulled.

Dont you understand, we were not interested in trying the new rules. We wanted them gone without every trying them out. So of course we are not interested in how cool the changes are or how great the changes are, or that we could have been making BER 14 harvesters.

We are happy sticking our heads in the sand and are better off not knowing what fools we were for demanding the changes not be implemented.

I have to disagree with you. A lot of people stated that one line items would be superior under the new system. Since we only care about BER it was stated that architects would probably love this change. Also some weapons would be improved scout blasters, vibro knuckle.....

What most of us protested was that this change would not achieve the goals SOE was trying to accomplish. 1. Promote competition and break up monopolies, 2. Create a wider diversity of products. I think all of us know that this change benefits the 12 point masters and those rich enough to get the best of the best resources.

Yes a few can make even better items. But I believe this will lead to more monopolies, and inflation on skill tapes. If you aren't an 11 point master you can't compete, and you may need to be a 12 point master to do really well.

This change is great for architects. I wouldn't mind if it stayed. I think it is rough for armorsmiths, chefs, doctors....

I think the first post was sarcasm. Not 100% sure but pretty sure.

I'm sure the first post was sarcasm, just as I'm sure the second post was disagreeing with the meaning behind the sarcasm. The major opposition to the change was from those who realized that the change would not achieve the goals that the devs thought it would (it would in fact achieve the opposite), not from those who thought they would be nerfed by the change.

The crafting changes would actually achieve the opposite effect of what the devs envisioned.

The community realized that. And spoke out.

One line experimentation professions like us architects have some benefits, but if you play some other crafters irregularily you will see that the crafting changes sucked for them big time as soon as you have muliple lines to experiment on.

Sure .. there are special cases where you COULD be superior than before .. e.g. rifles with even higher damage, cause if you use conceal shot, HAM and speed have no meaning .. but overall your product would be 15 % worse. The crafters did not like that. The customers did not like that.

And if you are DE .. you are **edit**ed anyway ... :-) .. now THATS sarcasm !

Have fun

That first post was awesome! Five flaming chilli's! "We are happy sticking our heads in the sand". Clearly, that is sarcasm.

I'm pretty sure I agree with the intent of the original posters post...I'm happy that the new system was given to us to play with. A bit more time would have been welcome, but I'll take what I can get.

I didn't get to try to make BER 13's the way I usually do with ~925-ish materials. I didn't geta chance to try to make a nice station. Or a perfect swoop. Or a perfect weapon repair tool. Or a perfect structure tool. Or a perfect lamp (very low on the list). Or any of the other cool things I could have tried. I was "blinded" by my quest for a BER 14.
