Thread: We dont care what you can make under the new system
I have to disagree with you. A lot of people stated that one line items would be superior under the new system. Since we only care about BER it was stated that architects would probably love this change. Also some weapons would be improved scout blasters, vibro knuckle.....
What most of us protested was that this change would not achieve the goals SOE was trying to accomplish. 1. Promote competition and break up monopolies, 2. Create a wider diversity of products. I think all of us know that this change benefits the 12 point masters and those rich enough to get the best of the best resources.
Yes a few can make even better items. But I believe this will lead to more monopolies, and inflation on skill tapes. If you aren't an 11 point master you can't compete, and you may need to be a 12 point master to do really well.
This change is great for architects. I wouldn't mind if it stayed. I think it is rough for armorsmiths, chefs, doctors....
The crafting changes would actually achieve the opposite effect of what the devs envisioned.
The community realized that. And spoke out.
One line experimentation professions like us architects have some benefits, but if you play some other crafters irregularily you will see that the crafting changes sucked for them big time as soon as you have muliple lines to experiment on.
Sure .. there are special cases where you COULD be superior than before .. e.g. rifles with even higher damage, cause if you use conceal shot, HAM and speed have no meaning .. but overall your product would be 15 % worse. The crafters did not like that. The customers did not like that.
And if you are DE .. you are **edit**ed anyway ... :-) .. now THATS sarcasm !
Have fun

That first post was awesome! Five flaming chilli's! "We are happy sticking our heads in the sand". Clearly, that is sarcasm.
I'm pretty sure I agree with the intent of the original posters post...I'm happy that the new system was given to us to play with. A bit more time would have been welcome, but I'll take what I can get.
I didn't get to try to make BER 13's the way I usually do with ~925-ish materials. I didn't geta chance to try to make a nice station. Or a perfect swoop. Or a perfect weapon repair tool. Or a perfect structure tool. Or a perfect lamp (very low on the list). Or any of the other cool things I could have tried. I was "blinded" by my quest for a BER 14.
