I was thinking of going up the Architect tree but after reading some of the threads on this forum im not too sure.
Can you dabble in this profession at all? All I have read is having lots and lots of harvestors and factories, buying resources, collecting resources, etc.
Is Architect enjoyable? I like the sound of it but the thought of putting ALL my time into this is putting me off a little.
Can anyone advise?
Thanks

Thats a pretty subjective question, it really depends on what your end goals are. For the first few months of being a Master Architect, all I made and sold were Furniture, Paintings and Factories (few houses) and only had one factory.
I did enjoy it but once I got the hang of it, I started doing Harvesters and expanded to 3 factories.
Can you dabble? Sure, don't see why not.All you need is one factory and you can do quite well.
Like I said before, It really depends on what your goal is or why you're wanting to do Architect. If by 'dabbling' you mean selling 100 harvesters a week, then the answer is no. In my opinion, Architect is the most fun dabble-type crafting profession because you don't need to be Master to start making things people will buy.

There is no room for levity and laughter in the great halls of the Architects.
You can dabble, and have fun with it, but you'll just take longer to get rich.
A lot of your business comes from repeat customers and being able to deliver.
That being said, I made a lot of money for months just selling furniture on the bazaar at coronet.
As far as the forums go, most of the surviving architects are hardcore crafters and decorators that wouldn't be happy being anything else.
But by no means do you have to be to enjoy it.

Thanks guys....
I'll look up a Architect trainer tonight when I get home.
Basically I dont want to spend all game doing harvestor and factory runs, but I have done that before on a smaller scale so I will give it a try.

I rarely, if I have ever, posted on these forums...well the architect forums that is...I have an alt who is leveling into architect and master artisan...I will only be doing 4/2/0/0 Architect...gets you the furniture line and you can make statues and such. I leave the more complicated harvesters to Real Architects
. I had fun with Architect on my main way back when, it can be a very enjoyable profession.

Another way to dabble is 0/0/1/4 which will let you make all the houses and factories.
If you want to do harvesters then 0/4/4/0 would be necessary since you need the experimentation points from the construction line to make good ones. However you'll be missing the structure assembly points so your experiment results might be pretty poor.
If you're a master artisan then you can make high quality crafting stations with just novice architect since they actually use artisan experimentation points.
You can minimize your time investment by buying materials from miners instead of doing your own mining. I buy most of my materials nowadays. And since mostly we only need grind quality its pretty cheap and readily available now that the hologrind is dead.

You can try dabbling, it's easier with furniture than anything else I think. Who knows, you might fall in love! I think everyone should try any prof they're interested in at least once, at least then when you ask someone for something you know what your getting and what went into it

LOL
Anyways I'm 1/4/4/4 and if I didn't enjoy Architect I wouldn't be doing it. I only grinded to 0/2/2/1 and the rest has just been residual gain over the last few months. On top of MArt it's very handy. I'm not looking to get filthy rich, there are faster and easier ways to do that. I just like being self-sufficient.
