Thread: Factory issue items not in crate

Okay, I am at the stage in architect where I need components from factory crates. This in itself is annoying, but I just went to my factory to pick up the ore mining units I made and they are not in a crate. Why? Can I still use them? Is this a bug? Have I just pissed a bunch of resources down the tubes? Is it time to quit SWG?

Okay, yes I am upset. I am not a grinder and I work hard to be the best architect I can be so any help you can give me here will be greatly appreciated.

I had the same thing happen.

Then I checked the serial numbers (or whatever they're called)and they were all the same, so there wasn't a problem.

They *are* identical, so you can use them for heavy harvesters just as you planned.

They *are not* in crates and have apparently never been in crates and for all we know will never be in crates, so you have to figure out how to store the damn things.

This is probably one of the biggest annoyances with our profession right now as far as I'm concerned.

I personally run off 10 or 20 of them at a time immediately before I do a run of heavy minerals or make some fusions. I just don't know where to store a big run of the ore mining units otherwise. Its a hassle but its doable.

You can do what I do to store them. Put them in backpacks and name the pack "Ore Mining Unit (20)"with the number in ( ) tells how many you have in it, if you have a vendor as I do to store them. That way when I need them I can pull them off the vendor and know how many I have in the backpack. That why if you do another run you don't get them mix'd up.

Sorry, to say that's just the way it is at the moment - not a real BIG deal and certainly not a good reason quit or be OVERLY UPSET.

There are also houses, other structures, factories and harvesters that don't crate either - if you didn't know - now you do.

A good point to remember is to identify each new factory run of Ore Mining Units such as OMU-A, OMU-B ...OMU-C or somthing because most schematics require identical ones.

Welcome to the club.

Other possible things you that may upset you - but not worth quiting:

- stack and crate sizes

- storage (you'll soon be running out of it)

- architect pricing/undercutting

you've discovered the lovely OMU issue... aparently from what I hear they used to stack in crates, but from the over generous nature of the devs, they suddenly stopped stacking.

I don't know, the architects have been asking for this for a long time... we're aparently not high up on their list of people to help out. Then again, there is a lot that can be improved on, everyone's got to wait in line.
