I've spent some time reading the various posts and i've read the fact sticky and after talking w/ my supplier of 10 ber harvs i'm lil confused. He told me that i should find some hi ut polymer. From what i've read we should use lube since it doesnt have teh stats we use... My question is what is the right answer lol. I"m grinding up to master and want to be able to make the 13's and i'm currently gathering resources (i have great steel and ore). So polymer w/ high ut or lube w/o ?

Lub oil does not have the stats that matter which are HR, SR and UT. If a material doesn't have the stats that the schematic looks at then they don't count in the equation. It only looks at the stats for the other materials used which do have those stats.
If you use lub oil then you don't have to worry about its quality at all. You can just buy grind junk and it will work fine.
However a polymer with VERY high stats would be good too. However you'd want a polymer with stats that are higher than the other materials you are using for it to be more advantageous than just using lub oil. Thats usually hard to find since good duralloy steel is relatively plentiful and polymer with high stats is rarer.

Another way of looking at it is that as an architect, you are constantly mining minerals - ore, steel, etc. Since high HR/SR/UT minerals of various forms are *critical* to making the top-rated harvesters, you will jump on those spawns and mine up a ton of them. That means that after you have been in business a little while you have very good minerals with those three stats into the 900s.
If you use ANY chemical with any of those stats (e.g, polymer has UT) you would have to factor the contribution of that resource into your mix. IF the UT was higher than your steel/metal/ore, then you would *improve* your result. But if it was lower than your other stuff, then you would *hurt* your result. Remember that over time you'll have some great minerals, and the likelihood of having a chemical that beats them gets lower and lower. Also, the rarer something is, the more likely it will be expensive to buy.
Alternitively, if you use Lube Oil, it will NEVER hurt your results. It will never help either - but thats ok because you've got great minerals. And since you don't care about any of the stats of the lube oil, you can buy the cheapest junk around (in quantity) or drop 1-2 BER13 harvesters on a 90% spot one week and have enough lube oil to last you for a long time.
So - just use lube oil and drop one resource off your list of "things to worry about".
