Hey all! I'm really stumped as to why I am unable to get BER 13 anymore. Perhaps this has been addressed, but after doing my due diligence, I can't find anything. I would really appreciate any help you guys can offer. Also, let me know if I can provide any details.
I am unable to hit BER 13 anymore. For example, I was doing Heavy Moisture Vaporators today, but this is the same case for heavy mineral. I used the following materials:
Durasogaite Steel

Turbo Fluidic Drilling Pump - BER 6
Now, I have used Bespin Port and was able to get a great success for the assembly, and two amazing successes when I experimented. The best I can do is BER 12. The experimental efficiency is 97%.
What am I missing here?

DId you make the turbo fluid pumps or ore mining units yourself by hand recently?
You say "Turbo Fluidic Drilling Pump - BER 6" but the % isn't noted so its possible you might have bought them or made them and mixed them up with some other BER 6's of lower quality.
Those materials should easily hit max BER13. I'd double check your mining parts and make sure they're highly experimented in the 90%'s.

Hey thanks for responding. I don't remember the % on the turbo fluidic drill pump units, but please explain why that matters, if they are already at their max, at BER 6? I thought that if you hit max BER @ 6, you were fine.

The % on the mining part matters a LOT. The final BER outcome of the harvester depends equally on the experiment rate of the mining part and the final combine. So a 99% mining part is a lot better than an 80% mining part. I basically ignore the BER rating on the mining part and only pay attention to the % experimentation result.
If you average the mining part % result and the % result for the harvester final combine a result of 90% or so will get you max BER.
So for example if your turbo fluid pumps are 80% then you would need nearly 100% duriing the combine of the harvester to hig max BER. But if your fluid pumps are 95% then you could hit max ber with about 85% during final combine.
For this reason I use the very best materials I've got when making the mining part. They take a lot less materials than required during the harvester final combine.
Note the % numbers above are approximate just to give an idea.

Ok, I took your advice, and am running a few factory runs for subcomponents that are at 94%. I'm hoping that was the issue, but if not I'll post up again.
Thanks a lot for your help. I really do appreciate it.

I've been building Heavy Chems and easily hitting BER13 at 82% efficiency.
I've got Structure Assembly & Experimentation +105.
I'm using a 13.32 crafting tool, while standing at a 42.63 crafting station in a city that is a research center.
I've been using the best materials I had as I built all the subcomponents.
Don't know if that helps, but I just thought I'd throw it out there.

Let us know if it works.
It works like a champ. I got 94% on everything, and I didn't even have to experiment with the fusion generator. It just showed up at BER 14, and let me experiment with the bin size.
Thank you SO much, Pawlin. You are the best!

Yes, fusions do not allow experimentation for efficiency, whatever you hit with the final combine is what you get, it cannot be improved except for hopper size.
I have updated the thread for how to make top rated harvesters to include a note about the experimentation on the 'mining unit' (fluid drill pump, omu etc), to emphasise the need to fully experiment this unit rather than stopping when the required BER is reached.

That's a great idea. I think it would be helpful to add that tip, because obviously it's a little murky when it comes to explaining that concept. Thanks again fellas, you guys were immensely helpful!

I made 5 BER13 Floras, and 3 BER 13 Heavies this weekend. No issues.

You must make sure the OMUs or TFDPs or whatever are maxxed out % wise. Else you may not reach 13.
Mine usually come out 96% or so, hjave no problem hitting 13 with 2 points left for the hopper.

d0qtrx/Iannyen: Guys, if you read the thread, you'll see that I already figured it out, thanks to Pawlin. No need to respond further.
