What type of fuel do large harvesters use? Are they worth is? I have 4 lots I can use, becouse my house takes up 6, err something like that... I just want to know if its worth trading in my 3 small harvesters, and 1 windgenerater for some large harvesters...

All harvestors take any form of power.

A large harvestor = 3.5 smalls so you can do the math on if its worth it.

If it's on a good enough spot, I *think* you could run three large harvesters off of one solar generator. If not you could always move up to a fusion, but I don't think you'll need that much power for 3 of them.

Three large harvesters will give you the amount of resources you would have gotten out of ten and a half small harvesters on the same number of lots. (Assuming all were placed on equal concentrations of resources of course.) So you'll come out ahead in terms of resources and over the long run will likely make more money. They will represent a bigger up front investement to buy the deeds. (Much bigger) And they will cost more to move each time the resources shift. So you'll want to factor that into your calculations.

The other advantage of Heavy harvesters is they are more efficient. You pay 3 times as much as a personal and get 3.5 times as much stuff.

The daily requirement for havestors are (cr maintenance/power consumption/rated resource extraction):

personal: 720 / 600 / 2,880

medium: 1,440 / 1,200 / 5,760

heavy: 2,160 / 1,800 / 10,080

They all take up one lot.

Heavy vs personal: Heavy extract 17% more. You only have to spend time once pay maintenance/deposit power/change resources/etc instead of 3.5 times.

Pro: The space requirement for heavy is huge, making it very difficult to place. If you're late in the resource shift, it'll impossible to place. The personal only require one "box", so is very easy to place. So if you're late in the resource shift, it'll still be easy to place them.

To redeed is twice the daily maintenance. However, since the resources required to build a heavy is ~55k vs 1k for personal, it's much more cost effective to redeed heavy. For personal, it's cheaper to destroy the puppy and mine/craft a new one (if you can craft one).

If you only have 4 lots left and you want to be able to fill a house order per day, then you'll need 4 heavy harvestors, otherwise you'll never get enough resources.

P.S. To get the actually resources mined, multiply the rated spec times the efficiency (the number you get when you survey). So a heavy sitting on a 50% ore can mine 10,080 x 0.50 = 5,040 ore per day.
