Hey hey everyone......maybe i am missing something, or maybe im not, but let me ask you all how you place your furniture so perfectly!! Every shop i walk into is set up beautifully. Couches right up against the walls, chairs in the right position around a table, shirts hanging on the wall in perfecty sync. While im over in my house taking 20 minutes trying to get a simple wooden chair to sit up against the wall correctly. LoL

Im just wondering how you all place your furniture? Is there a better way then droping it, moving it foward, rotate this way, rotate that way, **edit**.....still to far away from the wall....pick up....move a little bit....and repeat untill its where you want it to be. If there is a better way could you shed some light on the topic for me......does it just take some getting used to? Cause its a pain for me to align everything the way i want it. Tedious work. So for all of you out there with the furniture, and torches, and plants in your homes making it look so elegant, congrats! cause thats some good interior decorating and as a customer i appreciate it. So keep doing the good things your doing. I'll stil pay more to buy from you true architects because i understand what your going through, so keep at it there are still some decent people out there, just gotta find them and unfortunatley that could be hard.

Its tedious work, but there are ways to make it easier... first thing is never use the radial commands.

use /rotate <right/left> <degrees 1-180> to rotate it into place

use /move <forward/back> <distance 1-50> to move it around. remember with this command that forward is the direction YOU are currently facing, not the piece of furniture.

Also I've noticed that forward/back movement commands are based on the direction you are LOOKING, not just a general direction away from you. If you stand in front of a chair and face slightly to the right and then type : /move back 5 It will move back and slightly to your right, I usually switch to first person view when I'm decorating to help be more accurate.

Also, for those pesky round couches, you can add the name as an argument in the command.

/move couch forward 3

One of my customers dropped a gun on the steps so he could hang it on the wall. For some reason, the gun fell through the steps and he couldn't retrieve it. He was severely upset lol. This simple command saved the day for him.

/pickup <itemname>

If an item has multiple words in the name, such as "small potted plant", then only the first name of the item can be used as an arguement. i.e. /rotate small left 120. Now if you have multiple items starting with the word "small", it can get very interesting, as you move items you didn't intend to move. I always name my round couches "round couch". Really imaginative huh? Beats having the customer wonder if it's that hideous orange thing though. Anyway, while trying to position the round couch with /move round left 20, I was actually moving the "round chest" on the second floor 3 rooms away.

Another good idea is to set up macros and then drag their buttons up to your toolbar on the ctrl-F5 set of keys or something. Makes it a lot easier to hit one button than to repetitively type /move forward 5, or /rotate left.

Thanks for clearing that up, i was having all kinds of problems trying to move furniture with the radial menu, bah!. Now.....say i have to move my Mineral Surveying Device.....Whats the exact command i use? Is it

/move mineral foward 5 ?

Or is it something else? The first time i tried to move it i just clicked on it to select it, then typed /move foward 5, and nothing happened so i was a bit confused but the post above definatley helps me out so im going to go and try that. But if someone could give me an exact phrase on how i can move my mineral device id appreciate it, if not im sure il figure it out, thanks again!.
