I'm against decay, and I'm an Architect.

Sorry, but I am.

Iget a great deal of joy out of making things. What I don't want to do is be concerned for everyone's decay, and making runs to fix their homes/harvs. Aren't we busy enough with our factories and harvesters? Running around surveying as well? Time. I seem to have alot of it, but its barely enough to keep up with a busy Architect business(been around forever, and done very well) and have a little fun in addition to the customer orders.

Saving Grace: Many are posting that decay would be our saving grace. Fiddlesticks! Decay would be our nightmare. Lets say it gets easier with an item...say, a Structure Repair Tool. What are we going to charge for these tools (say it has 1 to 3 uses. Even 10), maybe 1k? 10k? Is this our saving grace for the profession? I think not!

Current decay is fine: Become empathic for a moment. As a fighter, its hard enough to return to your home to pay maintenance on their home, let alone determining why they should buy furniture. I can't imagine the vast majority of fighters needing a home once decay is assigned to their structure. Many (that I personally know) would simply let the thing rot, and let a friend borrow/rent those extra lot spaces for harvesters. If I were a fighter, and didn't give a darn about the "RP or homeownership" aspect, I'd let the new decaying structure rot. In my opinion, its the vast majority of fighters that would give a darn about their homes.

Answer: New structures that aren't choices as of yet. PvP or destroyable structures. These are the items we desperately need, and are interested in seeing decay as a factor. This is our renewable income. Make them have all the importance/shock and awe that they need, and have them become our neverending source. Structures that can be attacked should have a decay concern, for their integrity is already at risk with attacks.

Architectural Financial Band-Aid: I have faith that PvP structures and decaying structures will be within our midst as time goes on. Assigning decay to the Architect structures as we know them today is a BIG mistake. Houses and Harvesters? Factories? These shouldn't decay, but assigning decay on them now as a "Band-Aid" for Architecture Money Hemmorageing is a mistake. The transition to those "decaying structures in our Future" will be a tough one. Implementing decay on our current structures is a big mistake, and shouldn't help the transition until we get True decay structures. Once decay is placed on our houses and harvesters, how is it supposed to be removed? It'll be a nightmare.

The Wait: Decay on our current structures is a mistake. If thats the case, then the only path left is to wait until the True Decay structures come out (turrets, bastions, armed gates). Wait, or suffer an endless Architectural mess of decay on the simplest of things, houses and harvs.

....or, you could raise your prices for Pete's sake.
