Thread: Sure it's been asked before, but how do I hang things on walls?

I have a small generic house, and I'd like to hang satchels and such on walls. But, if I drop them they're always on the floor. Anyone have any ideas?

Sorry to break this to you, but i figure you've probably been in someones house and seen backpacks on the walls. The reason you see them floating up a wall is the same reason why you sometimes see full suits of armour arranged as it would be worn. When you DROP a backpack, it is set at the same height it would be worn, you can then rotate them, and move them againsts the wall.

This won't work with satchels, its not an EQUIPPABLE item, so will just drop on the floor. Buy a travel pack from the bazaar and try that.. bet it works!

The stairs trick is the only way I have found to change the vertical axis of anything placed in a house. But unfortunately I have only gotten it to work in the same room as the stairs, as I can't /move items beyond room boundaries (they get stuck in doorways ).

I have however seen two player houses with items on tables in rooms with no stairs and have yet to figure out how they did it.

Oh, and for those not in the know of the stairs trick it is simply this:

1. walk up stairs so your feet are at the level you want the item to be at.

2. drop the item and it appears at your feet

3. walk back down the stairs and target the item you dropped on the stairs and /move it (the item will move and will always remain at the same height as the stairs on which it was dropped

4. /move it into position and voila.

If you know how to get the items past the doorways and into other rooms in the house please share with the group.

This isn't true, if you drop armor in your house it automatically goes to the right height to make a "display suit." You don't have to use stairs for armor/clothing.

Kriterian, he was talking about backpacks floating and explaining it as the same as armor.
