Thread: Are Architects being punished?! (crit fails not critical for all)
Ok, we all know about the critical failures, and how SOE's attempt to fix them only proved to make them worse, right? And we all know about the bug where, when we do fail, it says that the resources are still in their slots, but they really aren't right?
Well, it recently came to my attention that this is not the case for all crafting professions. It seems that Bio-engineers (possibly all chem/food crafters) got blessed while we got screwed. When a BE fails at a chem crafting session, he/she also gets the seemingly ghosted resources still showing in their slots. However, all he/she has to do is click on the "Assemble" button again and continue. It would seem that they are not losing their components when they fail. I cannot personally confirm this because I am not a BE. But a BE aquaintance of mine mentioned that it was so, after I complained about the high right of failures I was getting.
Would someone care to confirm this either way? And if it IS the case, would someone please grab a nerf bat and hit BE's over the head with it for us poor architects?
Critical failures are one way that the game is bing balanced.
The Architect craft is full of far more dissapointments and frustrations than maybe any other skill.
This will sort the men from the boys and turn the profession into what it is intended to be -
an elite and comparatively scarce profession.(at least at high levels)
Way off, all of you.
What I am saying is, we architects were supposed to be able to reclaim some of the resources that we use when we critically fail on a combine. The devs were graciously giving us a way to recoup part of the large number of resources due to the fact that we use so many more resources than other professions. However, in attempting to fix this for us, they seemed to have botched it, and although it seems to leave the resources in the crafting tool component slots, they are not really there. And we have to back out of the crafting session and start over, completely losing all resources.
However, it also seems that the fix that was intended for our profession may have inadvertantly landing on the BE profession instead. A bio-engineer stated that when he is crafting (using a chem/food tool), if he fails a combine, the resources are not lost and he only needs to click "Assemble" again to continue with the combine, at no loss in resources or components.
In other words, our patch went to the BEs instead of the architects (with the added bonus of no losses at all).
Again, I have not been able to confirm this. I am merely taking the word of a trusted friend.
