I don't think it means anything but I noticed today while making structural mods that they now have serial numbers.

they've always had them, you may not have noticed before, but I've seen them there for a long time.

Items made in a factory have needed identical components since the release. The only exception to this were Walls did not require identical structure modules.

They have always had serial numbers, the change is in the schematics. Factory items now require IDENTICAL components (as used in your manufacturing schematic).

I noticed this while making some manufacturing mechanisms, I needed the exact same generator turbine as I made the schematic (whereas before this was not so).

Architect was fun... let's see what else I can do before the nerf-bat swings 'round.
