Title says it all. This patch note is on test when bringing up the game. I would like to know how this is gonna impact us when it goes live. Does this affect medium harvester extraction rates? What exactly is being fixed here and how does it affect either medium harvesters or the turbo fluidic or heavy harv mech?

my money is on them nerfing med. min harvs to take 3 walls instead of structure mods. At least prices would stabilize and increase.

This, my friend is not a nerf! This is correcting a known issue that we architects have been crying for. And yes it would help stabilize prices for all medium harvesters.

I really do support such a change, as it knocks out undercutters and helps us not to have to explain/justify more expensive medium chems & gas. I'm afraid most others will see it as a nerf though.

It would not surprise me to see medium harvesters knocked down to a max of 8 BER, but that would mean modifying more than installation 2 items(medium flora is in installations 3). My reasoning is this: themining units(or drilling pumps, etc)for the medium harvesters all show a BER of 4 at the highest experimentation %'s. But when making the final, it somehow is able to add 6 BER to the harvester(they start at 4). Looking at heavies, they properly cap at 13(Base 7 + 6 BER mech). I think the 10 BER mediums were actually a mistake, because they used the same code for the mediums that they did for the heavies, and forgot to adjust it accordingly.

Im on TC currently, but dont have the skill yet to make these to test this theory. I've been trying to track down one of the TC arch's to see if I can find out what this is about.

However, I am now trembling that something else just broke as a result of this.

Megatroid,

well, I doubt that. Some Architect havent even recognized that those need more material. They sell all Mediums at the same Price. I sell BER 10 Minerals at 40k and Med Gas, Chem and Water for 85k, which is cheap on Minerals and a bit over standard for others.

Others selling the med Mineral for 55k and the med Gas also.....

In other words, profit will go down :-)

At least thats the case for Gorath I didnt sold them for 55k pre-patch, I will not do so after such a change. I will stop selling harvesters then if I cant get what I am asking for.

Read ya.

You know the more 3 structure module medium minerals produced and out there in the world the more likely some will be used for ORE mining. You know that substance that prevents us from a) making more items and b) making more from each item.

If we want any change, we want ore to come in the same percentages as steel (or copper).

I've sent a message to _-ArchAngel-_ hoping that he can find something out for us. Lets not speculate what the change is. I want to know from the developers (through _-ArchAngel-_ what the change really is as the description is very ambigous. I'm hoping it has something to do with the turbo fluidic and/or heavy harvesting mechanism as these were just added and perhaps there was a simple mistake to fix.

As for the discussion here about medium mineral harvesters. I believe this was done so a starting architect could actually get the resources to build the other harvesters to get his business off the ground. Makes it easy for an upcoming architect to get a fleet of medium minerals so that he can work on producing the other mediums and eventually heavies.

Looking into it right now. IMO it's just a coding thing and nothing we will notice, but Ill ask the higher ups and see what's up. Ill also log on TC to see what the changes "look" like.

Any news yet?

Thanks for the info AA,but why would they announce a code string fix that none of us would ever notice? Just seems like it would be odd.

Also, FYI I sell 10/BER medium minerals for 25k, and I don't sell the others at all.
