What do the devs actually do?.. I dont i have seen more than 5 posts from a dev in a single area. We architects(as well as other professions) have problems too, all we ask is that you reply once in a freakin while and let us know that our concerns and being seen and acknowledged.

I used to play a MMO called Jumpgate (some of you may have too) and I/we always saw a dev posting or at least online at the time. For those of you that dont know Jumpgate(JG) is a VERRRRY small MMO having like less than 50 ppl online at pretty much at anygiven time. We still saw devs and CSR's flying around and jumping online to chat or just to see how were doing.

Dont get me wrong, I love this game ive been playin since a little after launch and have been a had a great time. I currently have 2 chars of my own and i pay for a 2nd one for a friend. Its a great game and has tons of potential. I just think the SWG community would be WAAAY more happier than they are now if some big wig from the DEV seat would pop in every once in a while.

Sry had to rant and rave a bit. Just my 2cents worth.

The devs dont read this forum, cus they got a Correspondent to read it for them and fill them in. Problem is, the Correspondent seems to only be concerned with some issues and the rest of us get nothing but silence.

Ouch...

Check the big bug list to see if Im missing something. It should be updated soon, but to make a long story short:

I report your problems to the dev

The devs report their solution.

To be honest, replies are few and far between, and that's why I have so little to report. Other issues that have gone unanswered remain un-replied to because they have already been discussed and I gave the information I had. There is little point of replyingto 10 different posts as towhy furniture is not being colorized. But be sure that if you don't get a reply to one of your posts, send me a PM and I will address it directly. Im always forwarding ideas to the devs, and while they rarely act on it, Im optimistic that they may consider them in the future.

Aye, lay off Arch. If you think you can do better, prove it in some knowing, intelligentfashion. Not just spouting off. I believe Arch does a great, thankless, job reporting issues that are quiet probably being pushed to the rear burner by the developement team.

Do we have issues? yes

Are we happy with the response? no

Has Arch tried to at least reply when he has answers? yes

/agree Arch is doing a good job. We all know that correspondent is a thankless job and gets little response from the devs. But they play the profession just like us and want to see it get better. I believe at the moment the devs have their hands full anyway getting out the next big patch(vehicles, etc). So smaller issues probably are taking a back seat right now...

I think the community process is broken. I think it is improving, and I think the Correspondants are the best thing to possibly happen.

The problems I see with these forums as a whole is:

- Too many posts to wade through.
- Too many rants/whine/"petition".
- Little organization.

Taking the "furniture colorization" issue, if I were a new Architect (I'm not) reading the forum only occasionally (I browse several times a week), I might start a new post about it. It's easier for people to post their "quick question" then to search the board to see if it's been discussed before.

People want to feel like their voice is being heard. That's why they post, that's why they will repost about the same issue over and over again, that's why they'll post subjects in ALL CAPS, and that's why they'll post rants when they feel their voice isn't being heard.

As a community, I think it's great that our Correspondant acknowledges issues. That's a great first step as is the issues list that ArchAngel keeps.

I think what we'd like to see next is word that the Devs have acknowledged our issues list. It's been posted on the Correspondant board, but have the Devs acknowledged receipt? In order to have communication, you need to make sure the person you are communicating with is actually listening.

I think that while we all would love to have our pet issues addressed NOW, we understand that issues have to be prioritized and ours might be less important (we might not agree with the prioritization, but that's another issue). I think it would be great to see an ETA for each issue we have, but I think it's safe to say the Devs will never commit to doing something like that because deadlines slip, priorities change, designs change, etc.

If we could push the Devs for simple acknowledgement of our issue list first, then we could get the Devs to start giving us details as they are available. As long as we're trying to work WITH the Devs, I think they'll be more open to giving us information as they have it.

This is definitely something that will need to be worked out over time and hopefully some of the processes Thunderheart is working out with the Correspondants will help.

Tstorm definitely seems to be in the know. He hit the nail on the head. Essentially we're waiting on Thunderheart to get cracking on our top issues, and then the rest. We'll see what happens, but lately it's been a whole lot of nothing

Though they did fix a few things, like structural modules/walls/factories working together.
