Thread: I almost had a freakin' heart attack
Like most crafters i have two houses. one for storage and another for looks. last night i was crafting a house for someone. but i couldn't hold my resource backpack (aside from the one i was wearing) and the walls i needed for the house at the same time.so ti took the resources out thet i needed and tryed to put mu resource backpack down, but my house was too full. then i ran next door to my storage hous and ploped my backpack down. went to the first house and started to craft. then went back to the second house to get more resources, BUT when I opened my resource backpack it was EMPTY you know 0/50 empty.
So what did I do? well the same thing you would have done I FLIPPED OUT. over 2mill resources GONE!
I looked at my radar and saw a "dot " moveing away from my house ( remembering back to just after launch some people could loot a house without permission ) I started to chace him down and asked him about it and he denied taking anything. then he went LD. so i thought for sure he was the thief. then a friend came over to me to check out my situation, cause I asked him how to put in a CSR ticket, and he looked at the backpack and he COULD see the stuff was in it, but I could not!! he picked it up and everything was there. When I picked it up it was empty. It wasn't 'till he picked up then traded the backpack to me that the resources showed up. Boy was I releaved.
Has anything like this ever happened to anyone else?? please respond
And I would like to Publicly apologize to POLO for accusing him of steeling my stuff I was hot headed and wsa freaking out... and the ticket was never made

We didn't even blink.
Just relog a few times or wait till the next day when the servers reset.
It's not worth getting mad over because:
1) There are so many inventory bugs my blood pressure would cause my brain to explode if I got mad every time one popped up
2) They almost always resolve themselves by relogging
3) You would have better odds of receiving help if, stranded on a desert island in the Pacific Ocean, you wrote HELP on a piece of paper and set it afloat in a bottle... than using the current Ticket system. So... we dont even bother any more.
It would take less time for me to replace 2 million resources than it would for a CSR to contact me.
Geez, if the backback bug didn't happen to me (master arch) at least once a day I think Im so used to it id start to miss it lol. Just relog or wait for server reset. Your resources are in there, you just cant see them. Its a database bug, and not serious enough to go nuts over (although we ALL do the first time it happens).
Keep on craftin'
This is what happens when the items that are on you and the items in the house both total over the cap limit on the house.
For instance:
a small generic house: cap -150 items
you have 135 items in the house and 40 items on your person.
They total to 175 items "in the house" , for some reason the matrix that holds the values for these items is recessive and won't allow you to see in backpacks that have many, many items in it. ie. back packs with 50 items.
It's all very confusing , but it happens all of the time.
This happens to me all the time. I went on a resource run when the server crashed. I checked my backpack and over 2 million in resources were gone. I checked the harvestors closest to me and saw the hopper was empty. I closed that menu, paid some maintenance, and headed back home without a care in the world. The first person I saw I asked, "Can you see me?" He answered, "Yes." Point of the story:resources can be reharvested, try disappearing for almost a week. The only time someone could see me is when I would buff myself. (They saw the blue glow.) Too bad I am a medic and not a combat profession. It would be fun to attack overt imperials with them wondering where the shots were coming from.
Oh, I tried logging, shuttling in between planets, dying (NPC's had no problem seeing me), and writing a CSR ticket (I am surprised I am still not invisible). But in the end the weekly town update fixed me.
Yes I get it to. I threw a tissy fit the first time it happened and then felt like an idiot when the stuff magically reappeared the next day. Usually relogging doesn't fix it for me but a server reset does. I try and avoid it as much as I can by not dropping backpacks with essential items in my house. Ya I know easier said than done for a lot of us.
