Thread: With Research Specialization can we get over 100%
As a Master Artisan and Human, I already have 115% experimentation.
No, you dont get more than 100%.
With 11 points, I have 1 left over most of the time.
You can get 11 experimentation points, but getting to use all 11 is another matter entirely.
From what I have read and from playing as an architect for a few months, I'd say that to get to use the extra point, will either need perfect resources (999 or above on UT/SR & HR) and/or an Amazing Success at each level of experimentation on all components and the final construction (a total of maybe 4 Amazing successes in a row with no crits of lower level successes).
The words "possible" and "highly improbably" spring to mind. The word "impossible" though doesn't.
I am still not sure how the research specialization is going to affect our experimentation. I believe I read that is is going to add 15% to our experimentation roles. If this is true, is a 115% now the theoretical maximum we can achieve?
Or is it going to give us 11 skill points?
Has anyone been on test center and been in a city with research?
As I understand it would give us a 15% better chance when we are experimenting, the same way better tools and crafting Stations aid us. It won't affect anything else like making the materials we are using better then they are.
The only way to get extra experimenting points, to my knowledge, is get a skill-enhancing item for Structural Experimentation.

You don't need perfect just really good. To get a BER13 heavy, I'll use 9 points pretty much every time, then I have 2 points left over for hopper size (which always has more boxes left over). So an extra point would be more than helpful to increase hopper size.

Amazing will get you the same results without using as many points as Great
experimenting a power-up to 98% only takes 10 exp points, leaving 1 for me
doing that with amazings leaves me with 98% and 2 points left over... amazings help most for people that don't have enough experimentation points to max out their product with the resources they have (i.e. high quality resources and a low level crafter).
